Dawned sweet and green and cool. Rained overnight some, but doesn't look to be much. Today 'sposed to be cooler, and I hope so. And more rain and thunderstorms, and I hope so.
Beau found the package with bear fabric for a jacket, and just destroyed the bag, and let the rest go. That was the whole night's damage. Not bad. I need, always, to remember that despite his size he IS a puppy. This morning watching him race up and down the porch stairs, he pretty much confirmed same. As of this moment everyone out/in, fed, out/in, asleep.
Back from the weekend's mining of salt (it wasn't near as demanding as two weeknds before), and free (within reasonable limits) to take it easy today. Slept very well.
Weather here is like summer in Fresno--it has been over 100 degrees for about three days now as I recall, and the high temperature is supposed to run about 103 degrees for the next week at least. Folks here are accustomed to dealing with it, but that's still hot.
Miyoko's finger is healing well, but she will be a southpaw for a while yet.
I got back seriously to reading the Darkover novel I set aside a while back because doom seemed certain to descend and I couldn't bear it. I have (as usually happens) forgotten certain details, but am well into the rollicking good part where the unknown becomes clarified, the situation turns around, and love seems about to conquer all.
