I checked back on yesterday's thread. The counter said there were 2 posts, but when I clicked, they were all there. Except the one I did on "tax cuts," and I suspect in that case I accidentally clicked "cancel" instead of "post." The two buttons here are reversed from what I'm used to.
What depresses me about the tax bill is the vicious and totally uncalled-for attack on Social Security. Does anybody know where that came from? It wasn't part of Obama's original proposal and I haven't heard a lot of Republicans pushing it either. It came so totally out of left field that the AARP didn't have a chance to mount a defense. Nor have I seen any analysis of what the effect will be. Other than obviously bad.
If it weren't for that, I'd say this bill is better than the original. Obama wanted to make most of the Bush tax cuts *permanent." This way we at least have a chance to get rid of them in two years.
No idea. I rather doubt that even one of our administrators could do anything. Almost a given that the problem is in the server system somehow and only their sysadmins can fix it.
Yes. Unlike some Senators widely regarded as progressive (I won't mention All F), Sanders -- and our Howard -- pointed out that the attack on social Security was the very worst part of this dea.
I took this opportunity to make my contribution. I'm sure I have a similar e-mail in my inbox, but haven't had a chance to open it yet.

I think the HuffPost article rather overstates things, though. We don't know how much of this patient's cure was the result of happenstance or of the particular HIV strain with which he was infected. As the paper in Blood makes clear, he *should* still be susceptible to HIV.

Also a trifle frustrated at not being able to hear the harmony for the song I'm trying to work on. Sometimes I can, this time I can't, and it's irritating me. But, the world will go on.
Howard's first. Hope somebody can *see* this, lol!

Blog's still at it. The message I posted earlier isn't visible now. But I know it will be later.
ReplyDeleteWell, we got our cold last night, and we're all the way up to 10ยบ!! Not going to talk about wind chills. . . . Bright and windy.
ReplyDeleteI see. Still disappearing stuff. Dang!
ReplyDeletepuddle, I see only your first. Counter says "5", I see only one comment. Anybody know how to fix this? I sure don't.

ReplyDeleteIn a way it's a relief to find that the problem lies with Echo. Yesterday I thought it was, somehow, the fault of my computer or of FireFox.
ReplyDeleteJust visited the echo site. Guess who's also having problems with them? Technorati, lol!
ReplyDeleteThat's a comfort. *smirk*
ReplyDeleteAlso tells you just how much trubble it is to find any commenting systems, much less decent ones. . . . If *this* is the best Technorati can do. . . .
ReplyDeleteDamn! Disappeared another one.

I was able to read all the comments first thing when I got in!
ReplyDeleteLong day, but all's well. It's 1 degree here presently. At this temp, the hair in your nostrils freezes. *giggle!*

ReplyDeleteIt's a step, though. We know a little more. Hopefully we'll get to a cure soon.

Fine, thanks.
ReplyDeleteGot sneezy, snuffly kitties though.
