  1. So no one has yet observed that Dr. Dean is first? Well, he is.

Beautiful, mostly sunny day today with temps in the mid-20s. We've had snow on the ground longer than usual for Chicago. As people further east have also observed, a relatively warm November has been followed by a relatively cold December. What will January be like?

  2. Bill, forecasters have predicted that the second half of Winter will be snowier than the first half (at least here in New England.) Don't put the shovel away yet. Oh, and make sure it's standing up!

  3. It has been spitting fine snow all day. Nothing to speak of as regards accumulation, but it's made me wait a bit to drive into town.

  5. Last evening at the Library our local legislators met with all comers. I got to ask a few questions in between doing my usual Library duties. There is a good feeling in the community that we have a Democrat in the Governor's seat again, for the first time since Howard Dean stepped down to run for President. It helps. It's still going to take a long time to get anything done, of course, with the new folks coming into office. We lost 3 good Senators, because they all ran for Governor. One is now Governor and the other two are Secretaries in the new Administration. But there will be some new egos on the floor of the Senate and they are known for being a tad long winded. Heh. That will slow things down until they settle in. :-)

  6. What a lovely day! Any day that contains a four hour conversation wit' ma hunny qualifies as a lovely day. That it was almost 40ยบ didn't hurt a thing, lol! And sunny. And blue skies. You know the drill. . . .

Got some lovely Amish 9 bean soup in the crock pot. Cat's asleep. Live is very very good.

  7. Still can't seem to shake this mizzerable sinus cold and Hubby has it, and Son*Who*Rode*To*Maine*With*Us got it too. Blah. Everybody stay away from me!

We didn't get sun today but we're hoping for some tomorrow.

Best part of the day was watching the first video of the Granddaughters Collection we were given at Christmas! :-)

Suuuure do wish we'd hear from Ally's Mommy today.

  8. Arghhh, I HATE Yahoo email. It's been totally weirding out lately. Now I can neither send or receive email. To make it worse there's NO WAY to contact Yahoo to get the matter set straight. I am BEYOND frustrated!

  10. Hey...

    Looks like no news tonight.

Stay tuned. And say a prayer/send vibes for Ally's parents. Her Mommy wrote:
