Come on over this way...

...Quite a nice surprise was waiting for me.

  1. Dr. Dean is first hereabouts; and I left some replies on the previous thread.

Took Naomi back to San Mateo today, stopping for a pottery sale in Berkeley and a Pixar show at the Oakland Museum of California on the way. After consideration we all seem to have agreed that when Naomi drives down for Christmas (her first long drive ever) she should come by way of the San Mateo-Hayward bridge and the Altamont Pass rather than via San Jose and the Pacheco Pass. Maybe slightly longer, but definitely safer. Traffic was pretty heavy today, but going the way we did it was OK; the heavy-to-the-point-of-almost-stopping traffic was going the other way, both ways. Nice day, but cold after sundown. Expect frost.

CT scan tomorrow. Almost forgot the yummy contast medium...

Well, here's hoping for the best, and that California once again will be a bellwether for the nation.

    And thus to bed.

  5. listener, got it. Hope it helps.

Beautiful, bright but vewy cold here. May trip to the country store, but not much further than that. Winter has definitely arrived. . . .

    And, Alan, good luck today.

  7. Alan, I also find that amazon has a better selection than B&N.

That reminds me. Gotta zap on over to order a few movies. Sis reminded me a little while ago that today is their Ciber Monday sale.

  16. Well, I don't have to go in to work tomorrow. My boss tells me she got coverage.

I am most grateful because I have regular coughing fits and now it hurts way over on my right side.
I think I pulled a muscle coughing! Sheesh! This virus is one mean jellybean!
If only the dang sore throat would subside.

But what do you want for $1144 per month in premiums? :-P

  17. Hubby and I ventured out for a noble cause this afternoon.
I got two vases ready: a small green glass cylinder and a one-gallon mason jar.
I set the mason jar into a square box with paper padding around it.
I packed scissors and water and off we went.
We bought flowers and filled the two vases:
the smaller vase to leave at Son and Future-DIL's apartment with a gift certificate to eat out (Italian)
and the larger for Son to take with him when he went back to NH tonight.
Tomorrow is her grandmother's memorial service.
Future-DIL is to read a reading and Son is to be a pall bearer.
We figured they'd need something extra once they're back. It's been a long week for them all.
It was hard to be out in the cold, but we weren't out long.
Hoping for a good night's sleep....under the Wing.

  18. Miracles? Alas, we aren't much better at treating viruses than Hippocrates was.

But if good wishes can help ...
