Nice weather here, with highs around 60. Rain this morning (Thursday), with a spring thunderstorm, but mostly cleared up in the afternoon.

Something of a rush job has also accounted for my relative absence the past few days. The item with the real deadline was finished earlier this evening. Still things to do, both for salt and for the parade, as well as things like reading and routine file maintenance, but I expect less pressure for likely the rest of the month -- not that these things are ever predictable.

  4. I finally caught up with Thursday's thread and left messages over there.

Under the Wing now. Glad I don't have to work tomorrow.
Lots of Spring cleaning and scrubbing to do, though,
in advance of having all 3 granddaughters here on Sunday! Oh bliss!! ♡♡♡

  5. Gray, misty, but the rain has stopped. The river is down a couple of inches. But rain's due to hang around till Saturday night. And 2 to 4" is predicted. 3" or more can cause flooding, even if the river weren't up, so I'm doubting I'll escape this. Just hate to keep being part of Elmer's (the guy with the end-loader) income stream. . . .

  6. Harbinger

    glossy black body shell
    delicate lace of wing
    first fly of spring

    six hours sooner
    came, spinning down her
    silken string
    first spider of spring

  7. Yes that's the proper order of things...first the fly, then the spider.
Especially from the fly's point of view!

It was a gray day here today.
I got some good cleaning done, but hadn't slept well,
    so needed a nap.

Now I have to go out to a neighbourhood association meeting
(which is always bad for the blood pressure, as the pres is a fear-based fussbudget),
then home to (hopefully) sleep so I can open the Library in the morning.

Soak in Spring and not water, puddle!! ♥
    No Ally update today.
The Jack update is that he is still very very slowly losing ground,
and they have a meeting on Monday with the oncologist
and have some big decisions to make.

Count each bulb that sprouts as a special gift. ♥

  8. Ah. But the spider was six hours sooner. . . . But alas, too small to make a meal of a house fly.

  11. Oh, that's kind of what I meant. Just that they weren't there at the same time. Ha!
