  1. Judge Finds Trump in Contempt for Violating Gag Order [Click] April 30, 2024 at 10:01 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Judge Juan Merchan has found Trump in contempt for violating his gag order and has fined Trump $1,000 for each violation, CNN reports.

The New York Times says Merchan wrote that he would not tolerate continued violations of his orders and that if necessary and appropriate, he would “impose an incarceratory sentence.”

  3. (Susan) Jenny of Missiouri Star quilts just announced that she and her husband are going on a two-year missionary stint in an African country. This makes me kind of sick. Just more white colonizing, as if only White Christians have the TRUTH. She'll get no praise from me.

Like Anglicans and Methodists haven’t already gone that route? 😜
Or maybe she’s hoping to convert those traditions to her Community Bible Excitement Church. 😝

Headed over to the marina to do more boat prep.
We have Chickadees nesting in the birdhouse out front a our house, *and* a Robin nesting atop our wreath on our porch. They are only about 8ft apart.
The wreath got so top heavy it (and the best) leaned over sideways. So Wil added supports and now Mama Robin is quite pleased with her abode.
Someone drank our birdbath dry last night. I suspect a deer.
It’s nice to find that our home is deemed safe by the natural world!

If any kid is hurt tonight, responsibility will fall on the mayor and univ presidents.

Other leaders and schools have found a safe, de-escalatory path. This is the opposite of leadership and endangers public safety. A nightmare in the making.

I urge the Mayor to reverse course.

  10. "Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that Israel will proceed with an offensive on the southern Gaza city of Rafah even if renewed efforts at internationally brokered talks with Hamas result in the release of hostages and a ceasefire."

Hell's Bells! Why would they now agree to release of hostages and a ceasefire after that statement? Hasn't Netanyahu just destroyed the chances of the hostages being released and a ceasefire being allowed? I mean, what part of cease fire doesn't he understand?!! NO MORE WEAPONS FOR THE MADMAN!

    1. Netanyahu is on a mission to destroy ALL Palestinian life. ALL OF IT. He has become Hitler 2.0. Given how military Israel is, I will never believe they did not know about the Hamas attack before it came, that they *allowed* it because it would give them the excuse they needed to commit mass murder. 2. That sounds plausible, Susan. But I have heard that Israel received international warnings and dismissed them. Come to think of it, those two things are not necessarily mutually exclusive. If not though, Netanyahu is far more twisted and evil than I realized. The whole thing makes me sick. What the hell is Biden thinking, giving him more and more armament?

BTW I agree that Netanyahu wants to wipe the Palestinian people off the face of the earth. That is fairly obvious. I guess it's not genocide when it's perpetrated by Jews.

    3. I should think that many, perhaps most, of the "Palestinians" are descendants of the ancient Jewish residents of the area.

    4. Public opinion in Israel has turned against the war and in favor of a hostage deal. The latest poll shows just how little trust Israelis have in the war effort and Netanyahu's leadership and how badly they want the hostages back.

The poll on Kann News has the following numbers:

      · 54% of the Israeli public supports the Egyptian deal currently on the table. Only 26% are against.
      · 47% support a deal freeing all the hostages in exchange for an end to the war, and 32% are against it.
      · 59% say Netanyahu is not doing enough to get the hostages out. Only 29% say he is.
      · When asked, do you believe Netanyahu when he says we are “a step from victory”? 65% say no, and 17% say yes.

It will be very difficult for Netanyahu to say no to a deal with these numbers.

    1. Oh boy--that's a good one! I just love this Reality TV! Having testified as an expert in hundreds of cases, I can assure you that when members of the jury nod as a witness is testifying, the witness has them. I would love to know if that is going on in this case; I expect it is.

  12. We all know how expensive college tuition is, right? Well, VT*Grand has long wanted to attend UVM for college (two more years to go). Then, today, her mom took a job at UVM...which means that if she still wants to go to UVM in two years, she will go tuition free!! Best Mom Ever!!
