I was moved to read up on Walter Cronkite, and found this tidbit on Wikipedia: Cronkite trained himself to speak at a rate of 124 words per minute in his newscasts so that viewers could clearly understand him. In contrast, Americans average about 165 words per minute, and fast, difficult-to-understand talkers speak close to 200 words per minute ---Alan
I read the Twins story earlier today. Horrific! Really hit me, as it took place during the time I was born and my children were born. This lack of moral compass or care for human well being just disgusts.
Beat me to it! [Video] Trump HIT with $83 MILLION Verdict at Federal Trial!!! [Click] Hell, that’s chump change for a multi-billionaire, but it is on par with the award in the Freeman-Moss case. And it leaves something for others to claim. —Alan
7.1 [or 7.3?] milllion for compensatory dammages 11 million for reputational repair 65 million for punitive damages
Presumably the plaintiff will also be awarded costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees, but I think the judge takes care of that. No mention of interest on unpaid balance.
Carroll is within her rights to request a restraining order against Trump to prevent further defamation etc. If the judge grants the order and Trump ignores it, he could be fined and if he does it a second time it becomes a felony and the judge can toss him into the slammer (as I understand). Nunc est bibendum! [L., now it is time to drink.]
I haven't heard from Cooter since Monday. Hoping to connect over the weekend. Keeping puddle close in heart and ever in the Light. I so hope they've eased her pain by now.
Am sooo tired. Didn't sleep well the last two nights, but hope to tonight. Have been working on a family document and lost about 5 pages of work today that I could not figure out how to recover. Recreated it instead.

Seeing as the former trial jury suggested $5mil and Carroll asked for $10mil, this is pretty great.
