  1. I find myself thinking about TFG. If he had any sense he could have looted his properties and acquired multiple offshore bank accounts, foreign passports, and residences, then just quietly left the US after Biden was sworn in as president, and had no trouble to speak of. I don't think he would have been able to make as good a go of it as King Farouk, but he should have been able to do at least as well as Fulgencio Batista, and way better than Idi Amin. It's hard to make a comparison with Ferdinand Marcos and the Shah of Iran because they died rather soon after fleeing. But they guy is simply an unutterable fool.

    3. If only. It's worse than him being a fool. He's a malignant narcissist. He is not ABLE to back down. I suspect he has an undersized amygdala.

As I have no intention of setting a toe in FL, I'll take it as a badge of honour.

    1. Or better just go straight to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution article. [Click] None of it is unanticipated, but nevertheless it is shocking.

    3. Yes, the good old boy system is being sorely stressed by the entry of women into the legal inner sanctum. The reason the SC case of Murdaugh got so much attention was because it made obvious that people had been skating for generations. Heritage, don't you know.

    1. It's a sweet, feel-good movie.
I found a few implausible (even inappropriate) spots in it, but that just made it more believeable in a way...that they weren't scrupulously correct.

  9. I have been reviewing and making notes of the Lord Dunsany video that I linked to yesterday. I think that I shall for now download with intention to read 1) The Gods of Pagana, 2) The Book of Wonder, and 3) The Sword of Welleran and Other Stories.
