I remember going through the forests come spring and keeping an eye out for trilliums; they just popped up singly out of the pine needles and redwood litter. ---Alan
Re the previous thread: I can easily believe the people who say they were deceived by GW Bush. I could see the holes in the evidence he was presenting but that was not only becauss I was paying close attention but because I understood how the alleged chemistry didn't really add up. Indeed, I suspect that Bush deceived himself. He beleived people who were telling him what he wanted to hear.
I remember the joke that the US wanted to divide Iraq into three provinces: Regular, Supreme, and Unleaded. ---Alan P.S.: I also remember that Dick Cheney thought the US invasion and occupation could be paid for with Iraqi oil.
I have just finished a webinar on book marketing that turned out to be on building a career as a novelist. In an odd way, this reminds me of a couple of Prostate Cancer Foundation webinars I have recently viewed. People don't seem able to imagine an 86-year-old either being newly diagnosed with prostate cancer or trying to market a first novel.
I'm aghast that Harry and Meghan were chased by paparazzi for 1.5 hours Tuesday night. How horrifyingly scary for the man who lost his mother to that crap, and feared for his wife and his life during the experience. I'm especially disgusted that last I heard no one had been arrested for driving on sidewalks and the wrong way down streets, speeding through NYC to chase them.

ReplyDeleteThe streets were literally full of people who were not deceived; Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein were deadly enemies.
