    2. Takeaways from the State of the Union: More conciliation than conflict. The AP takes a somewhat different view. Although the two are not totally irreconcilable.

    1. I imagine it doesn't instill confidence to just call the emergency over when you can see there is still a difficult situation ensuing.

  5. Bush demanded billions for AIDS in Africa at his 2003 State of the Union. It paid off. [Click] “President George W. Bush stunned the world by proposing what many thought impossible: providing wide access to HIV treatment in poor countries devastated by AIDS.” Cited by President Biden in his SOTU address.

    1. I haven't been following Chicago politics closely, since I'm not directly affected. It's not clear to me what the problem with Lightfoot may be. But I believe there are at least three serious challengers, so it looks like a runoff.

  7. $7 Billion Disaster — Why Target Failed in Canada [Click] Because of experiences I have had, I was particularly amused by the Target executives, who would never use it, spending a huge amount of money on doomed enterprise software. 1. He's simply amazing, and so dedicated to his people and country. It comes from the heart. If you can find his TV show online (it has subtitles) it's worth a look. He is that same person in that show, really.
