He said he dumped DT because he criticised DeSantos prior to the election. The Daily Show guy quips. "I thought it was (due to) the Kids in Cages." And the guy says, "No, it wasn't that."

The Atlantic: Putin’s Desperate Hours [Click] “The Russian president is frantic and lashing out in defeat.” “Putin has put himself and his country in a desperate situation, and he has run out of options . . .” I beg to differ. “There is always a choice.” Hitler made his choice as Soviet troops approached his bunker. Idi Amin made his choice after fleeing Kampala.
(Susan) Since Putin has long been rumored to be suffering from a terminal disease. I doubt he has the grit to choose a final option, though I wish he would.
I think he would have great difficulty finding anyone who would grant him political asylum, and would probably not be able to abide the associated restrictions on his behavior if someone should. I agree that he probably doesn't have what it takes to exit the way Hitler did. Death due to disease or assassination are two other possibilities. A mutiny in the Army would certainly not be unprecedented, and would make things much more "interesting." I saw an interview with the former head of UK armed forces who opined that the Russian army's morale is now so abysmal that it could be completely destroyed by a strong Ukrainian counteroffensive, resulting in a complete breakdown of command. ---Alan
(Susan) I was today years old when I learned that geese dive underwater! I was seated across from a wall of windows, watching the geese on the nearby pond when I saw several of them go all the way under the water. One of the other women there told me she saw one the other day that dove and then swam all the way to the other end of the pond before surfacing again. I love when I learn a new thing!

(I promise, it’s not what you’d think.)
I couldn't understand what he said, and the computerized closed captions evidently didn't either. Enlighten me.

ReplyDeleteYeah! Many birds do that. Loons are expert at diving underwater and going clear across a small lake before popping back up. Amazing!
