There is a saying from Kahil Gibran, "I have spent my days stringing and restringing my lute and the song I came to sing remains unsung". And, buddy, that perfectly describes the way I've been feeling for the past two months. Feeling like I accomplish less than 5% of the things I want to do. Political climate and Ukraine NOT helping.
In my experience, that's just the way life is after about age 60. What used to take me two days now takes closer to two weeks. It's a shift in focus. At first, it worried me a little...was I slowly losing cognitive function? Now I think it's just that our bodies need a slower pace in our latter decades, and that's largely because our brain works harder. We have a LOT more data to sift through when we think things over. So, naturally, that takes longer. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
