This from me, Alan, whom Blogger doesn't recognize for now:
The tropical disease ignored for too long [Click] Chagas disease. I remember when an endemic focus of a non-symptomatic variant was discovered in the foothills near here; I never heard if the CDC succeeded in discovering the natural reservoir.
Browsing the InnerTubes, I found this information site, [Click] which says that raccoons, bats, opossums, and dogs can serve as reservoirs.
One reason it is likely to evade laboratory diagnosis in the US is that differentiation of blood cells, which used to be done manually [on almost all patients] and can detect the parasite, has become widely automated to improve productivity of medical laboratory technicians and technologists [i.e., to save money and improve profits]. A lot of other abnormalities now go undetected for the same reason; the machines work efficiently for most subjects, but can’t recognize things that a well-trained human can.
When I got the keys to the blog from Renee, she made me a special Google account to use for that. I can only get into the blog if I use that account, so I keep it set up on one browser. I am not recognised by the other browser, and neither will admit to recognising me via my iPhone. That makes no sense to me. Stranger still is that any browser using any account recognises me to post new photos on the front page. You'd think that would be the more protected part! 🤷🏻♀️
I note that the place where we type Comments looks different. So Blogger has made some sort of change. I certainly hope this doesn't keep puddle and Cat from being able to post!!
Thanks for the offer, Alan, but I still have no clue whether it's actually in stock. And given their boderline rudness ("you shuold have read the Terms and Condtios") I'm not that anxious to order from this particular place.
A few minutes tardy, but a new thread we have!
ReplyDeleteWith thanks to Bill, I have added notes on the last thread.

Alan, if you know your password, go to the front page (via computer) and, in the upper right corner, click on "sign out" then sign in again.

DeleteThanks for the tip, listener. I will give it a little more time to fix itself, then root around to see if I can find my password

DeleteOh, my—I just discovered that the next Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier [Click] to be built will be named after Doris Miller. [Click] If that isn’t fine, I don’t know what is.
