🎉Ally Mae is 15 years old today! 💜

On January 7th, Grandniece Ally marked 12 years cancer free, from a highly aggressive cancer. Now she is 15. A living miracle. Ally is on TV today, her 15th birthday, on Cook's Corner, a local cooking show on WMUR-TV in NH, making coffee cake.

Here's the link to see Ally on TV! She did the show with such grace and confidence! https://www.wmur.com/article/cook-s-corner-make-a-wish-mocha-coffee-cake/38899329?fbclid=IwAR2Zfgbt-tluw6mAChLUzst9IcWrk4ZAwA1ZpOwr-K7a910mj8nCDARS8yI Since Ally's virulent neuroblastoma cancer was on her stomach wall (found just after her 1st birthday!), she had to be fed through a tube. For several years after treatments she was having some "failure to thrive" issues from not really being interested in eating. But look at her now! She has taken gourmet cooking classes and is doing great!
I know that some of you were part of that journey through Ally's treatments and thought you might appreciate seeing how far she has come. Thank you so much for the support in those years. (Wow, we've been together a long time, eh?)

  1. "Really fine" doesn't begin to describe this.

    1. The artifacts of wealth are just symbols. What the parasitic elites are after is the feeling of superior power at the expense of others. If the objects of the excess were not symbolic of their prowess, modesty would be the order of the day.
The problem with the accumulation of almost everything, including currency, is that after a certain point is is demned difficult to reverse. EVen giving a gift takes an inordinate amount of time. It makes much more sense not to accumulate in the first place.

    1. Cynic that I am, I am inclined to think this would be news if they actually did anything about it. It his hardly unique or new.

  5. Matt's Weather Rapport: Blizzard of '22 over in New England with up to 31 inches of snow, winds up to 83 mph. Next up, a wide ranging "mixed media" winter storm to affect much of the nation later this week. Unlike yesterday's blizzard the next storm will affect Vermont in some shape or form. Lots of details here:

    1. We just don't yet know if we're getting snow or ice. Heh.

    2. Yesterday we commenced renovating a flower bed in front of our house. It had been invaded by Bermuda grass or something similar. Cutting out the grass and restoring the soil is a big job. Hmmmm.... I should sharpen the shovel. The purple gazanias we had planted there are doing very well, but we want to make them do better. Mulch and manure await.

    3. I'd be out renovating our flower bed, but it's under a half foot of snow and frozen solid. 🤣 It's sunny today, but the wind chills cut into the subzeros.

But, truth be told, I like the dormancy of Winter. I like not having outside work to do...a season of rest, like the Earth.

That said, I cheer you on as you restore the soil! Never let the grass win!

    1. I bet puddle meant to write either "Lovely work Ally!" or "Nicely done Ally!"
Being on modem makes adjustments difficult.

    2. Not "Lovely vote"? That would translate to what she wrote if her left hand were one key over.

  8. Yes, I remember when Ally began a last-ditch experimental treatment for a cancer otherwise expected to be fatal. It has been a while.
