We just learned that the 12/13 build date for our hybrid Maverick pickup truck has slipped to 12/22. =Heavy Sigh=
We'd had a fond and vain hope of having it by January 14th, as that’s 6 year old Grandson’s birthday. He’s very into vehicles, and when he heard that Grandad is waiting a long time for his red truck to come, he raced off and came back with his own toy red pickup truck and handed it over to Grandad to keep until his own truck arrives, to help him wait. Is that sweet or what? So, it’s sitting on Wil’s desk until the Maverick arrives, and our first trip will be over to Maine to give that boy a ride!
Tomorrow afternoon I will be taking the train for the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) in Washington, DC. I'll be back a week from Tuesday morning. Not sure how much time or connectivity I'll have while I'm gone.
Hold the beef: McDonald’s avoids the bold step it must take to cut emissions [Click] “McDonald’s [is] years behind competitors like White Castle, [Click] Burger King [Click] and more in fully introducing plant-based burger options.” I don’t remember how long ago I last had a McDonald’s hamburger, but it has been a very long time. The information about the “Impossible” burgers at McD’s competitors sounds mildly interesting, but in my opinion they are way too thick.

ReplyDeleteExcellent. Good cow! Phil*in*Iowa would be so pleased.
DeleteBob Dole's memorial service was today at Washington National Cathedral, with President Biden giving the eulogy. Now, that's the America I remember.

Not sure what this means besides the Supreme Court being incompetent and political:
