  1. Note on the last thread.

"Beginning the week of Sept. 20, Americans who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine will be offered a booster shot eight months after their second dose."

When is your 8 months since second dose date?
Mine is the day after Thanksgiving.

    1. Mine would be mid-November. But maybe I will give CVS a try before then, given the stories about it being easy enough, with no need to fib. I can look up which drugstores have the vaccine on any particular day.

    2. Technically, it would be December 6. We'll see when I actually get around to it.

  3. The remnants of TS Fred are coming through our region. Fortunately most of it is staying south of here, because I've released a LOT of Butterflies in the past week and I'd like them to make it!

So, of course, we are watching soon-to-be Hurricane Henri with great interest. Was looking like it might turn at Nantucket and come inland, but now it's postulated to head toward the Atlantic, even as it possibly rakes over Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. We'll see.

    1. I just looked it up, and my source says it is 91. Bad enough. Must be the smoke they said was going to be hitting the SF Bay area a couple of days ago.

    3. Probably it is just a matter of where the monitor is located. I looked just now (8AM) and they are reporting 151. So no walking this morning.

    Hope Texans take note.

  9. Mariposa County Sheriff: ‘I’ve never seen a death like this’ [Click] Undeniably tragic and freakish. If it were indoors one would immediately think of carbon monoxide poisoning—the dog is a celebrated clue. They must have been asphyxiated, be it by carbon monoxide or by air depleted of oxygen. The location is at the bottom of a narrow canyon.

    1. The more I reflect on it, the more I suspect a big bunch of carbon dioxide flowing down the canyon, since it is denser than air. I have no idea if there is or was an active fire uphill from where it happened.
