My four 8-key kalimbas arrived today. They make a lovely gentle music. I got one for myself, one for my Favorite Daughter and two for the twin granddaughters. They all have different appearances, so hoping to short-circuit any sibling fuss over who gets what.
My first thumb piano, was home made, in a sardine can, five prongs of random hammered bits of metal. Never had anything so lovely sounding, including two professionally made ones, later. If I'd known how much I loved it, I wouldn't have traded it for anything. Alas, I did trade it.
VPR is getting ready to offer a Governor's Press Conference late morning tomorrow, in anticipation that Governor Scott will be making the big announcement.
