Sunny Day

  1. On our customary morning walk we take some dry cat food and kitty treats for a cat that comes out to greet us, five doors down the street. We noticed that it was coming farther and farther down the street to meet us and escort us to the driveway in front of its place where we have been feeding it a bit (it is all right with its staff members). Today and two or three days ago it showed up at our house meowing for treats! It ran us to ground. . .

    1. 😆
      Smart kitty!
Knows now just where the good food comes from. You may want to continue feeding kitty ONLY in front of kitty’s own house. 🐱

  3. I got some weeds pulled this afternoon; current reported temperature (5PM) = 93F, humidity 18%. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, 988F, then it will cool off. A little breeze and the low 90's feel pretty nice hereabouts. They say the grass pollen is high, but I took some Claritin last last night so no problems. Air Quality Index = good (45), way hellangone better than when the wildfires were burning last year. Fingers crossed for this year.

    1. 988F should read 98F, which you might have realized. . .

  5. Why some vaccinated people won't go maskless -- even outdoors

"The vaccines work very effectively, but not everyone is vaccinated, community transmission is still happening, and children cannot be vaccinated yet"

  7. I am being processed. I've already had an annual checkup, two dentist visits and a mammogram. (All's well and the mammogram was normal.) On Tuesday, now being 65, I had a Bone Density scan. Today (Wednesday), also due to being 65, I will get the pneumonia vaccine (and feel crummy for a few days). Later this month I'll have a visit with my gynecologist, then get my eyes tested. Gosh, I'll be all poked and prodded by then!

    1. Interestingly, now bone density tests for men at 75 y/o are becoming routine. Mine is May 26th (4 months early). Something a bit unusual is that the scans are not standardized; to get a comparison, one must be retested with the same scanner (or at least the same model, I think). The sigmoidoscopy has been replaced with a greatly improved poop test for [human] blood.
