A few years ago we made a place under an intersection of two angles of roof for a nest, hoping to attract doves where we could easily watch them. During several years, at first it didn't attract any attention. Then we saw it being inspected, but no nest was built. Then we saw a nest built, but no little birds. This year there are two little ones, and they have begun to fly.
Except, of course, that the executive does not pass bills. Congress does that. The executive is empowered to make recommendations and then signs bill to register assent, or not. The Congress really has no powers to force compliance and, indeed, Republican majorities consider do-nothingness to be a virtue. We would not have had four decades of monetary deprivation visited on the population if Congress had been held to account for its dereliction. Spending currency into the economy to provide for necessary goods and services is not an onerous task. Why Congress was allowed to get away with stiffing the populace is a puzzlement.
Cat just came out after three days of deep hiding *five inch slot between my bed and wall. Whole under bed area taken up by storage tubs. She cuddled for an hour before looking for food and water.
