Fox Kits

There's a mother Red Fox with four young kits just up the road from our house.
The amazing thing is that they hang out in a field right next to the main road (Route 15).
Wil sees them every night on his walk, so I went over there with my good camera.

    1. I was pulling weeds and this and that. Didn't find much gnus that I was thrilled to share. Just now found the plastics recycling article below.

    2. As for me, I had to be up earlier than usual to go out to a gyn doc visit, followed by running errands, followed by a long overdue eye doc appt, whereat he dilated my eyes for a glaucoma test, then had to leave and drive immediately home (on a sunny day, wearing two pairs of sunglasses) for two meetings, followed by watering the gardens, followed by making dinner, followed by talking the day over with Wil and that just finished.

    3. But! Both doc appts today yielded good news.

My first ever bone density scan came back perfectly normal, which my doc says is excellent at age 65. Nice to know my kids likely don't have osteoporosis in their future.

Plus, my eye doc determined I do not [for a change!] need a prescription change, and my cataracts are still early stage, and there's no glaucoma and no macular degeneration. Whoo hoo!

    4. Excellent. My bone density test is next Wednesday morning.

    5. Alan, have you ever had that test before? Easiest test I've ever taken. Swift and no-touch painless. Very little radiation. The tech doesn't even need protection. It's the equivalent of 2 days of normal background radiation. A chest Xray these days is the equivalent of 3 days of normal background radiation. A mammogram is the equivalent of about 4 weeks of background radiation. That's why I only consent to them every other year...that, and the good fortune of being *very* low risk for cancer.

    6. It will be a new experience for me. I think I recall that they said to be there early or lose my place in line, but that will probably be in my e-mail reminder. I assume no clothing or accessories with radio-opaque objects is allowed.

  2. Here, at last ready to do computer stuff (including the online Tribune, next stop).

  3. Well, I -faced with a mountain of work I do not want to do, am trying to smother my depression and anxiety under thousands of calories of food that tomorrow will make me even *more* depressed and anxious because the scale will go up. Oh, and the work will still be sitting there, waiting for me, like some malevolent goblin that I cannot evict. Son #2 walks around the house intoning "Everything is terrible" and today I agree with him.

    1. Susan, I have something that will brighten your day!

Apparently because I am in Vermont, Facebook added to my feed an ad by Beau Ties of Vermont. It’s a little company here that makes bow ties and regular ties, but during the pandemic they began making face masks. Here’s the ad:

Beau Ties Ltd. of Vermont https://www.beautiesltd.com
The most comfortable and breathable mask on the market. No more fogging glasses. Adjustable ear loops and a pocket for a filter. See why Beau Ties of Vermont is American's favorite mask.

They get rave reviews and, after reading the Comments thread I think I’m going to buy something from them! Here’s why. In between the many recommends and kudos from delighted customers, there were a few trolls. But Beau Ties made short work of them, in a manner that I think JC and you would applaud. See what you think. It kind of made my day.

Commenter A: You do know we no longer have to wear masks, right?
Beau Ties: Let the flight attendants know that so you get pulled off the flight.
And let your doctor know so you get banned from their office.
And let the teachers know so your kids get suspended.
Or let the compromised know so they can get sick.
      Or...shut up and sit down.

Commenter B: Give it Up masks are over
Mask makers are now officially out of business

Beau Ties: posts photo of tee shirt that reads: “Trump Lost. Get over it Snowflake.”

Commenter B rejoins: I suppose you can start making T-shirts

Beau Ties responds: I suppose you can find a job and stop spending our tax dollars?
