Cake is gorgeous. I would never be able to cut such a work of art. I share my birthday with Rhianna and with Trevor Noah - love them. I *also* share my birthday with Ivana Trump and Mitch McConnell - ugh.
Trump Can Still Be The Republican Party’s Future. Just Look To Arizona. [Click] “Arizona Republicans keep losing — but the state party has already turned itself into a Trump machine, still trying to win an election that’s long over. And that might be the future of conservatism.” A long read; doesn’t look good for the GOP.
From the CDC: The number of deaths [from the" Spanish" flu] was estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 occurring in the United States. The number of deaths so far attributed to the Coronavirus has passed 500,000, which probably indicates excess deaths (including deaths caused indirectly and undiagnosed deaths) of about 750,000. Bear in mind that since 1918 the population of the US has approximately tripled.
Interesting factoid: In June 2019, a new species of dinosaur, Fostoria dhimbangunmal was described from fossils retrieved from Lightning Ridge. The plant-eating species lived at least 100 million years ago. It is the most complete dinosaur fossil to be found preserved as opal.
Talked to kid. BP down to 165/80 from yesterday’s 236/119. He’s lost 4 liters of water via diuretics. Has a malfunctioning aortic valve. Sez the rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated. And yes he’s going to quit smoking. Official diagnosis is Congestive Heart Failure. Old stamping grounds for me—have a whole lot of info and opinions on the subject. He thanks you all for the prayers and light. I do, too. Took my first full breath in 24 hours. Love you all, bless and appreciate and am very very grateful for you. xox
