Can you believe that this GREEN photo was taken the same weekend and on the same mountain as the YELLOW and ORANGE and at least one of the RED photos? I love Vermont in Autumn!
Well, it's been awhile since we had an Ally update.
Ally Mae is still cancer free!!! Here's what her Mom wrote this week:
"Today Ally had her “normal” annual check-up. Except nothing is normal when your child is a cancer survivor. We were with the doctor for about 45 minutes. When we left, I left with the directive to make 4 more doctor appointments. She needs to see the ear doctor, as the doctor today saw something in her ear that might be a complication from a past surgery. She needs to see the eye doctor because cancer...long term effects, and the primary care doctor thinks it is time for a formal check up on Ally's eyes. We have to make an appointment with the dermatologist because Ally is at an elevated risk for skin cancers. We also need to make an appointment with the spine doctor for another check in with her kyphosis. If your child is healthy, hug them tight tonight. Also, perhaps think about giving some money to childhood cancer research so that kids like mine can get access to less toxic treatments, so they don’t have to be at the doctors so often."
Good news; thank you. I remember a teacher in one of the high schools I attended who had kyphosis (I hadn't heard the scientific word for it before this), probably from TB of the spine--not that I asked. They're making lots of progress with less toxic cancer treatments, but it seems so slow.
DT’s stunt shouldn’t have happened. SS agents voice frustration.
And now this... “ Pacing the well-appointed presidential suite at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center between intravenous doses of remdesivir and near-hourly checks of his vitals, President Donald Trump has told more than one well-wisher he's desperate to fly the coop.” https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/05/politics/trump-secret-service-trip/index.html

Dr. Leana Wen tweeted that she would perform a psychiatric evaluation on President Trump if he were her patient and left the hospital while still infected with the novel coronavirus “to go for a car ride.”
Said Wen: “I’d call security to restrain him then perform a psychiatric evaluation to examine his decision-making capacity.”
Flashback Quote of the Day ”We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here… Isn’t that refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of President Obama?” — Kayleigh McEnany, on Fox News, February 25, 2020.
VT: 1817 (+32😩) * 58deaths (69 days) 134 active cases Recovered: 1625 (+3) In Hospital 1 (+1) Tests 167,506 (+986)
* Turns out 26 of the 33 new cases are migrant workers from Jamaica who came to Vermont to pick apples at one large orchard. They all quarantined for 14 days upon arrival. One came down with symptoms on the 15th day...! 25 are asymptomatic.
Incidentally, the orchard also has a bakery, so they have ceased baking goodies and are reappropriating their bakers to make food for all the workers who now have to quarantine again. I like that. Plus they are closed to the public and sanitising all products. It's sad because they're good people and offer the best pies and apples.
Oh fie! Google now fails to recognise me as me on BOTH my browsers. So EVERY time I go to post it wants me to prove I'm not a robot and do the Capcha thing. Then, once it posts me as me, it dumps me back out again, and it NEVER gives me the power to be an Admin.
What don't I understand?!
Note: It was doing this just from one browser until tonight. My granddaughter asked me to comment on her YouTube video, and to do that I needed a gmail account. I didn't want to post there as listener, so I made a new account. I can switch from one to the other, but this stupid Blogger will ONLY set me as the new account now. Is there a way to switch between them successfully?
Having turned 65 last month, I was given the option of the regular dose or the high dose. I almost went with regular, but decided out of bald curiosity to go with the high dose. Liane had it for the first time a few weeks ago and had a strong reaction to it. But she has lots of allergies, so her system kind of ramps up. Mine, on the other hand, has a low-normal immune response. And yup, so far, no reaction at all, except a slight pinch where the needle went in, whenever I raise my arm. Stay tuned.
As for the COVID-19 vaccine. I am eager for it, but I'm sure not going to get it before it's properly tested!
An interesting Herman Cain COVID-45 timeline: 6/24: Attends Trump rally without a mask 7/2: Tests positive for COVID-45 7/10: Says he’s improving 7/15: Says his doctors seem happy with his progress 7/27: Says he’s still getting better 7/30: Dies
Each night before I close my computer for the day, I check the USGS Earthquake map. Tonight's looked highly unusual. California had not one single Earthquake all day. Not even a 2.0. I have never seen that before.

ReplyDeleteI love Vermont in Spring! I love Vermont in Winter! I pretty much love Vermont in Summer (except when it goes above 80ºF).
