Thanks, Alan! You always find such interesting articles. I’m grateful because we are putting in a pollinator garden, and I am spending long days outside. Very little time to surf the inter-tubes these days.
You're welcome, and thank you, listener. The blog is an antidote for cabin fever. Speaking of pollinators, don't forget the bats! And they eat incredible numbers of mosquitos, too. There are directions on the inner tubes for how to make bat houses; the entrances are VERY small.
The other day I passed by a house built on a corner in the city, and their front yard had been converted from lawn to a wildflower garden. It was beautiful.
Our oximeter arrived today at last! 13 days later than promised, but that’s fine. Shipping is a mess right now.
Oh, and since my Mother’s ring is still stuck in La County for at least another 3 months, they are going to make me a new one exactly like it, only the correct size! I’m fine with that because I only had it a couple months and it’s been gone that long too.
They make the rings in relatively safe Toronto, Canada! They resize them in LA County, California.
From what I had read before, in an unrelated connection, "half" is a serious exaggeration. But it does miss some early cases. Abbott is working to find a fix, but that's irrelevant to its current use.
OHIO: As of Wednesday afternoon, there are 25,721 cases in the state, 1,483 deaths, and 4,618 hospitalizations, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
It's notable that each task force has five Biden picks to three Sanders picks. But each picked a co-chair. So --- Not half bad. There is opportunity for discussion.
That's what I noticed and figure too, Bill. It isn't a slap in the face by any means. Maybe that is to be expected between two Senators of long experience.
Given Biden's age and apparent vitality, I'd sure like to see him choose a running mate with executive (i.e. gubernatorial) experience. That narrows the field considerably--Whitmer being the apparent best bet because of her experience dealing with anti-lockdown activists.
Thinking about the coronavirus epidemic and its possible political ramifications, I am reminded that Herbert Hoover’s mishandling (by modern standards) of relief efforts during the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 [Click] and subsequent failings as President lost The Party of Lincoln the African-American vote, which it had enjoyed ever since the Civil War. Granted that the stock market crash was a huge problem for him, it certainly wasn’t the only one. He was also noted for his perceived lack of empathy, as memory serves me.
OK, here is our Hochkultur post of the day: The 1798 Poem That Was Made for 2020 [Click] ““The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” is taking on new meaning during the coronavirus pandemic.” I think I must experience this performance.
I spent 8 hours in the garden today and didn't even get all of the walkway edging in. That's because I needed 8" deep edging, but they only had 4" and 12", so I took 12". And oh my gosh, that is hard to get into the ground! It means a lot of deep digging first, whereas the 4" and even 8" can be pounded in without any digging. I'm putting in about 80ft of it. So off to sleep for me!
Ocasio-Cortez to Co-Chair Biden Climate Task Force [Click] Well, that’s promising. The article talks about other task forces to bridge the gap between Biden and Bernie’s policies.

DeleteOf course. We would place one up be the adjacent field.
DeleteBut first I’ll need a butterfly box and a butterfly bath. The latter arrives Friday.
Before all of that, I will need to actually make the garden. LOL!
I have the path laid out and am putting in the edging today. Getting there!
Today is the last cold day, so I’m doing all the grunt work I possibly can!

Should take a couple weeks. 👍

"There is a God." ;-)
