OHIO: As of Tuesday afternoon, there are 33,007 cases in the state, 2,002 deaths, and 5,597 hospitalizations, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
The number of COVID deaths by day in California has been steady (as a 7-day rolling average) for the past month. The data are dominated by Los Angeles County.
I suspect that the coronavirus was being imported to Vermont from NYC rather early on. It is pretty clear that it was slow getting here from the SF Bay Area--we had warning, and the county supervisors acted on it with reasonable dispatch. (Not so in neighboring Tulare County.) I think we got the Chinese version of the virus, which doesn't spread as efficiently as the variant that appeared in Italy and made its way thence to NYC. I gather that it is only recently that any cases have been found in Fresno area nursing homes, giving more opportunity to control the damned stuff.
Oh, and I think I have figured out how to make an inexpensive and functional oil-based printing ink at home. I will be using good quality store-bought stuff, but doing research for the junior college printing instructor. Large cans of ink are OK if shared among class members, but if they are all learning at a distance, that doesn't work. Heaven knows when conventional classes (and access to the printing presses) will resume.
Morning, all. Cooter is getting ready to leave. At ehich point, me and da boi will go back to bed for a few more hours!
