Bernie Sanders Is Already Winning Big With Latino Voters [Click] “The senator notched decisive victories with Latinos in Iowa and New Hampshire. Can he do it again in Nevada?” The writer mentions only in passing those places called “California” and “Texas.” But take a look at all them uppity wimmin in the photo with Bernie!
The Next Populist Revolution Will Be Latino [Click] “Democrats are betting on a diversifying electorate to secure their party’s future, but second-generation Latinos won’t willingly accept a deeply unequal society.”
This author says "Lati0nos" but he means "Mexican-Americans." His analysis rests on the immigrant generation mostly not being citizens, but Puerto Ricans _are_ citizens. And many people of Cuban descent are now third generation. I think Puerto Ricans and people of Cuban descent would have every right to be offended by his use of the term "Latino."
And then there are descendants of the Spanish settlers of California and of New Mexico, although I don't think the former remain a recognizable social group.
I’ve seen most of those places and sites. Very nice photos, but there are better locations that the photographer missed. Come home to Vermont, Susan! 💚
The Economist is determinedly anti-Sanders. Oh, well, nobody can be right all the time. I still love reading it; though, as the primary season advances and Bernie carries all before him, their wrongheadedness will doubtless grow more tiresome...as will my that of own nearest and dearest. *shrug* What can ya do?
