  1. So it's officially Thursday. I'm not sure if I will post again today, as I leave for Minneapolis (Minicon) Thursday afternoon. Will be back very late Sunday night/early Monday morning.

  3. How the Irish backstop emerged as May's Brexit nemesis [Click] “Ireland was streets ahead of the UK when it came to planning for Britain’s exit”

Global attention span is narrowing and trends don't last as long, study reveals [Click] Hmmmm….this should have political consequences.

  5. Of course news about the Mueller report is pretty much everywhere, but I find the coverage at politicalwire.com/ [Click] andtalkingpointsmemo.com/ [Click] to be more abundant and insightful than others I have looked at. (There are enough differences to justify reading both.) They are being continually updated, too.

    1. Here is Mueller’s executive summary of his report. [Click] A pretty long read in its own right. This copy seems to have been made hurriedly, possibly by optical scanning, to judge from the obvious typographical errors (none of any significance), and not caught by proofreading.

    1. correction:

National Poll Results: Biden, Sanders, and Buttigieg lead, with statistically indistinguishable results. [Click] It is a fairly big sample, but sure seems like an outlier. They use a unique sampling method, [Click, scroll down] but it seems to give fairly good results. It was founded in 2017, so doesn’t have any 2016 polls.

Biden hasn't even entered the race! What are they doing? Are they trying to boost Biden? Bad idea, too much negative baggage.

    3. I expect that Biden will run (there have been leaks about his videos being filmed), but I'd bet a fiver his campaign fizzles.

  7. Whomever gets the nomination, if it isn’t Bernie (and we all know the Dem elite avoid him like the plague), would be wise to invite Bernie to be VP. If Hilary had done so ~ whether or not Bernie accepted ~ she would have won.

Made it to Maine. Great visit so far ...and now to visit the Sandman!

    1. I find myself wondering from time to time whom Bernie would choose for his veep. Probably someone younger, not a "white" male, intelligent, with political chops. Probably not a current candidate. Stacey Abrams keeps coming to mind, and I still like Raul Grijalva. Of course there are others who don't occur to me. I am sure Bernie would make (or has made) an astute choice.
