Laying low these last few days. Saturday night I had a scratchy throat. Sunday I got a low grade fever, body aches and swollen glands. The fever has been down for days, but the throat is still swollen and uncomfortable, I have a dry cough and occasionally cough up some interesting looking crud. After some research I have discovered that I have all the symptoms of acute bronchitis. I've never had it before, so it's been a learning curve. I cancelled all commitments for the week and we'll see how this trends. I sure hope it's a LOT better by next week as I have 6 guidance meetings, a hair appointment, two lunches with friends and a grandchild day planned!! Argh!!
I am sleeping a lot, eating well, drowning in fluids and taking expectorant and pain killer as needed. Rev up the prayers and send me some healing vibes! Thank you!! 💖

First Read: “In last night’s Senate runoff in Mississippi, appointed Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) defeated Democrat Mike Espy by 8 points, 54% to 46%. That’s down from President Trump’s 18-point advantage in the state in 2016 and former Sen. Thad Cochran’s 22-point win there in 2014.”
“Indeed, Espy’s 10-point overperformance from the 2016 presidential results is close to the average of Democrats’ showing in the eight other major special elections of the 2018 cycle – from GA-6 to the Roy Moore vs. Doug Jones Senate race in Alabama.”
UPDATE: Went out to measure the snow (my first time outside in days) and got a little carried away. I took photos of the Christmas trees, then I did a little shoveling. Shouldn't have. Exhausted now and my breathing took a little hit. Phooey. I just want to get back to doing stuff. Patience needed.
And the verdict is: It snowed all day, but allegedly we got only 1" more. So I suspect it compacted down a bit. I believe we got at least 2", so I'm claiming 14" so far. Still snowing.

None of the 2,100 staffers working at a tent city holding camp with more than 2,300 migrant teenagers have gone through the rigorous FBI fingerprint background check process. "Instead," reads an HHS memo, the camp is "using checks conducted by a private contractor that has access to less comprehensive data, thereby heightening the risk that an individual with a criminal history could have direct access to children." The federal government is also allowing the facility to forgo mental health care requirements that mandate at least one mental health clinician for every 12 children.
