DIVERSITY

  1. Diversity in Congress is FIRST!

I can only imagine it's freaking out the white nationalists. So be it.

  2. When you have a moment, take a look back at the heat pump photos from yesterday. I updated the second one with the day's snow load! :-)

  3. Snow load noted! Here it is autumnal--no frost yet, and the leaves on our persimmon trees are beautiful.

Low-cost sustainable housing—very interesting. [Click] Thought I would re-post this on today’s thread.

California GOP travails [Click] There is an old saying that the future happens first in California…

We intend to get a new Honda Fit on Tuesday to replace our old Toyota Camry, which needs unreasonably expensive repairs. For long trips we have the newish Camry hybrid. The new cars don’t have CD players, so I will get a flash drive and transfer CD’s to that.

    1. The all important car question, then, is:
      What colour??!

    2. I am hoping for a yellow leaning a tiny bit toward orange. Ought to be very easy to find in a parking lot! And I definitely want their collision avoidance system.

    3. LOL Susan! My current Mini Cooper is RED!! :-D

I like the yellow, but as orange is my least favourite color of all, I would pass on that. I like the red. My favorite color on Earth is able, but the Fit blue seems a bit...electric. We'll see. The darker of the two grays is nice enough. Will has it in charcoal, and PhD*Son has it in black. I want something a bit more jazzy. I also really want the side window rain shields, and not so much due to rain but to blocks the sun a little more, as I'm so short. I also very much need heated seats. But I want a manual transmission and I have yet to see one with heated seats. So we'll see what's possible.

    4. You want jazzy? In many countries the Honda Fit is called the Jazz! I have toyed with the idea of getting a "Jazz" model tag from Down Under and putting it on my [prospective] Fit. I am pretty sure I will replace the wimpy little horn with a more powerful one that says "big car." Or at least "medium sized car." A trip to the junk yard may be in my future. Got what is probably a fair offer for the old car from a big used car dealership.

  4. How America’s First Women Voters Lost the Franchise [Click] The president’s claim that voters “put on a different shirt, come in and vote again” echoed an odd 19th-century episode.

  5. In the end, only about an inch. But my, what a HEAVY inch. About a third ice/freezing rain. And, blessedly, melting.

    1. We had snow this morning. Looked like maybe a half inch. But it was all gone by mid-afternoon.

  6. Well, I'm so glad THAT's melting, puddle! Ugh!

I think we have about 9.5" or more. We stopped measuring it when it kept stopping and starting.

VT*Grand on the premises! Having a blast! Better sleep though. LOL!
