You know, that man in my driveway was actually pretty lucky I was out. If I had been home I never would have known he was there and he would have lain out there in the cold all night long. Synchronicity, I guess.
Yes, that's right. I was wondering if he was confused by hypothermia, but that seems unlikely. Well, there are any number of things human flesh is heir to that could have caused his problem. Whatever it was, we hope he gets over it; without you he might well not have.

P.S.: Having done such a good deed, you don't have to be nice to anyone else for at least a couple of weeks! [grin]
Ya done good, Susan, and no mistake. That was excellent luck coming into play. Not only did you happen to come home, but he happened to land at your house, where someone caring lives.
I am reminded of the time I happened to call my Dad one evening and he had fallen onto the floor and could not get back into bed. He was able to pull on the phone cord and get the phone in hand, but because of his Parkinson's he could not dial the phone. My Mother was in the hospital at the time, so she wasn't there to do it. I called the fire department for him. He lived next door and they had already rescued him that way several times. After that, Dad finally got a Lifeline to wear. Sometimes timing is everything!
I hadn't been paying attention to the Republican primary and hadn't realized that people thought Ives had a reasonable chance. Although one of the dozen or so people who responded to my texts for Biss said she was voting for Ives and added, "Go Trump 2020!"
With almost 2/3 of the vote counted, it looks like billionaire J. B. Pritzker will be the Democratic nominee for governor. His 45% of the vote looks like an insurmountable lead. But the Republican race is still too close to call with any confidence, as Raumer's lead is a bit over 3%.
And "the most conservative Democrat in Congress," Dan Lipinski in IL-3, is even more iffy. His lead, with 80% of the vote in that race counted, is just 2%.
With roughly 94% of the vote in each race counted, Raumer is clinging to a 3.4% lead but Lipinski's lead is only 1.3%. I'll call it for Raumer at this point but Lipinski is still too close to call.
In other news, we have an new Cook County Assessor and I have a new Cook County Commissioner. Both results I'm happy with. And almost 2/3 of Cook County voters say the state should legalize marijuana. (Only the General Assembly can actually make it legal.)
Kwame Raoul will be the Democratic nominee for Attorney General. Not my first choice, but as I believe I mentioned I think any of the candidates would do a good job.
It looks like the last 24 (of 500) precincts in IL-3 are going to be slow to come in. At the moment, Lipinski leads by 1,571 votes (1.8%). Will try to let you know the results tomorro2.
The part of the Bobbitt story that convinced me was him holding her mouth shut, and holding her hands, and removing her panties with his toes. . . . Some details you just had to be there to know. . . .
Weather forecast for Montpelier on Saturday a little colder, 37/21F, mostly cloudy, no precipitation, winds 5-10 mph. Ought to be OK for Vermonters, I think.
I still think Lorena Bobbitt missed a sure bet; she could have done a fair trade in framed, autographed photos of her smiling and holding a pair of large scissors--like Carry Nation’s hatchet.[Click]. Think of the likely improvement in Bill Clinton's behavior if HRC had given him such a present to keep on his desk or the wall of the Oval Office!
This article [click] is long but provides a very good description and analysis of the Cambridge Analytica/Facebook scandal. Did Cambridge Analytica's illicit acquisition of personal data from Facebook help Trump win the election? As the article points out, there is no way to tell. The only way to get a clue would be to look at the outcomes of races where Cambridge Analytica or similar firms have been involved. But, as the article points out, each race is unique, differing from others by thousands of factors. "So analyzing the effects of campaign tactics means perusing a small sample in which we are asked to compare apples to oranges to grapes to dogs to stars to love to six." And it might be mentioned that two days before the 2016 election the CEO of Cambridge Analytica said the company hadn't had time or staff to do much for Trump. But that was *before* Trump's surprise victory.
“President Trump’s legal team has reached out to Thedore B. Olson, one of the country’s most high-profile and seasoned litigators, to join forces amid mounting challenges in the probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election,” the Washington Post.
“The addition of Olson would come as President Trump, feeling vulnerable to the investigation led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, has told confidants that he wants to recruit top-tier talent and shake up his group of lawyers.”
In the afternoon:
“Former Solicitor General Ted Olson will not join President Donald Trump's legal team, a partner of Olson's legal firm said Tuesday.”

That picture reminds me of the Mother Earth and her Children appliqued wall-hangings that I've been "gonna do" for several years.

And they just keep coming. How many women has the creep bedded anyway? I'm beginning to think Wilt Chamberlain* has nothing on Trump.

*Chamberlain claimed to have had sex with a thousand women. Can't recall if that was during his NBA career or over the entire course of his life.
Beats me, but I think the Lorena Bobbitt treatment would have done him a world of good.
DeleteAlan
Which, Chamberlain or Trump? Or both? I heartily agree for Trump! Marla should have applied the treatment years ago, if not Ivana.
DeleteWell, they tried, but couldn't find it. . . .

I would think that any attorney signing on with Cheetolini at this point would make as much sense as going to a dog park to make snow angels.
