Thanks for the list, listener; politicalwire.com[Click], which is basically a news and opinion aggregator, has SO many good stories about yesterday’s elections; also a very good Bernie cartoon, albeit from a year or more ago.
Sure do! And thanks for adding her original blog name! I should have thought of that. Funny, I knew her as Liane almost from the start because she was here in Vermont.
Manchester, NH has a Democratic mayor. The state's largest city. Here on Georgia's coast we only had municipal elections and the incumbents got returned. The local elites act as if the city of Brunswick didn't even exist. That will have to be changed. What seems to have happened in Georgia is that segregation has morphed into "professionalism" so the will of the people can be ignored.
I remember Jimmy Carter's book (Turning Point) describing the political shenanigans in Georgia when he began to become active in politics--frank ballot box stuffing among many other things he had to battle against.

From today's Quartz Daily Brief: "Donald Trump visits Xi Jinping. As an ascendant China seeks superpower status, America’s allies in Asia are watching nervously whether Trump, unlike his predecessor Barack Obama, will accommodate Xi’s ambitions (paywall)." Question: How many properties does Trump own in China? That might give us a clue. (And certainly Trump's actions have benefited China far more than Russia.
I had heard thte Virginia had elected a transgender representative, but when I read about whom she had run against and how he behaved on the campaign trail, that was really frosting on the cake. I just keep thinking about it.
