  1. Well, are you ready for a laugh?

Having just completed plans to have our Thanksgiving gathering at Root*Center*Son's house, with VT*Grand (now age 10) and her parents present, as well as her other grandmother, VT*Grand mentions that she thinks her parents are going to do their own Thanksgiving this year, because our family from Maine will be at OUR house. Ha!! I was sure she must be mistaken, as I had just confirmed the plans with her mother the day before to all go to Root*Center*Son's house. I asked why she thought her cousins were coming here and she said it's because her Grandma [I'm Grammie] was over there this week and they told her!!!

Hmmm, I'd better check in about this before we order anything in particular for Thanksgiving, eh? Either VT*Grand is confused in some way (possible) or we will be the last to hear we're having house guests. 😄 Stay tuned!

  2. Is that the *real* one o'clock or the first one o'clock? I'm speaking from the second one o'clock.

  3. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll: “[Trump] is the only president dating back to Harry S. Truman whose approval rating at this point in his presidency is net negative — by 22 points. The next worst recorded in that time was Bill Clinton, who had a net positive of 11 points by this time in his presidency.”

  5. We're having a rip-roaring storm right now. I worked way past my capacity to get the car into the garage in case of hail. While cleaning out the basement stairwell I found a little teeny salamander. First one I've ever seen live. I thought it was a baby snake at first, but when I got it on a white surface I saw the little legs and arms. Son #2 took a picture of it and I released it into the leaf bed in the front "garden".

    1. Our first winter storm seems to have passed through; scattered light rain the past three days, and cold enough this morning that there must be snow in the mountains. I figured I had better take an umbrella and a warm jacket with me for my job at the air force base up north--that didn't happen.

  6. I'd never seen any live ones till I came here. My favorite is dark blue with spangles like stars. They're always a surprise.
