Alan, I'd say they're not becoming makerspaces….they already are! We were taking about this at the Library at least two years ago. It's already reality. "The future is the present; the present's in the past" ~ Paul Simon
I'm feeling a little sad tonight. Monday is my spiritual guides peer group meeting in NH and I was hoping to meet afterward with my spiritual guide, one to one, as we often have these last 12 years. However, today he sent word that he is close to a diagnosis which is likely to be life changing. He will relate more on Monday, but as he is 81 years old, has long had diabetes, and fell down a flight of stairs last year, anything's possible. I'd appreciate some good vibes this weekend, and for him as well. His name is Frank. Thanks, all. ♥
Here is an analysis by Tribune editorial writer Clarence Page of why the Michigan polls were so wrong. He mentions several reasons but focuses on the late-breaking impact of positions on the trade agreements. I might add that I consider Page the only Tribune editorial writer generally worth reading. Thank you, Listener, for the article linked on the last thread. Refreshing reality check.
MSNBC has my mother absolutely convinced that Bernie can't win because he's not electable whereas HRC is, and that he shouldn't be elected because he's inexperienced on broad, global issues whereas HRC is both experienced and competent. But Mum herself says Kerry is a much better Sec State than HRC was, which would seem to me somewhat to undermine the competence argument. Then what I keep reading about disarray (to put it kindly) in her campaign does not inspire confidence. Of course, Mum doesn't see any of that. She only sees pro-HRC and anti-Berni propaganda.
Why is the MSM so desperately in love with HRC? She doesn't show me anything, and she never did. Bill was personable and a pretty good president I guess, but nobody could accuse him of being a Democrat in the sense FDR would recognize. And HRC is a whole lot more like an old fashioned moderate Republican than any Democrat ought to be.
Now, if the general were Bernie for the Dems and HRC for the Reps, that would be the right and proper order of things. These Tea Party... *splutter* ...creatures, and *Trump*! They're not Republicans! They need remedial Civics lessons on their day out from the asylum!
We have the power!
ReplyDeleteDoves? Very fluffed-up, like the robins!

P.S.: I will be out of touch until Sunday evening, I expect.

ReplyDeleteThat link's not working for me, Bill.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't work for me either. Let's try it again. Page's Page
ReplyDeleteStill no go.
DeleteThis one works for me. Tested it when I put it up and just now.
DeleteStill somewhat unsettled as far as books go, but I returned to one I started some time ago, Einstein's Cosmos by Michio Kaku.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know Sir Arthur Eddington was a Quaker. Never know what you're going to learn by reading.

I can't speak to MSNBC or anything on TV. What I see in print MSM is that Hilliary is inevitable because, well, she's inevitable.
