Here's what it looked like BEFORE:

  1. Our compass is Howard Dean, and he never steers us wrong.

  2. Started Bridge of Ashes by Roger Zelazny last night. He really was a genius. As much as I like Amber, it really doesn't do him justice. Has anyone read his Lord of Light? It's built on the background of the Hindu pantheon. Just magnificent! I started This Immortal but couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll give it another try after Bridge of Ashes.

  3. I have never read Zelazny's works. Currently I am reading Addie Pray by Joe David Brown. Have you read it? It's FABULOUS!!! It's the book that the movie Paper Moon was based on, and covers extra adventures while being every bit as good as the movie, and written from Addie's perspective, looking back. Really worthwhile!

    1. Never read it, nor seen the movies. My horizons are somewhat limited.

  4. Spent much of the evening cleaning up my music files - eliminating unnecessary duplication, replacing outdated copies with current ones, etc. Now, all my songs are in one directory folder on the PC and backed up in one directory folder on the external drive. Much better than having stuff strewn all over the system as it was before. I'm tired and cross-eyed. Heaven only knows how badly off I'd be if I'd actually had to read the screen! 8)

  5. Cat, In 1974, Tatum O'Neal was (and remains!) the youngest person ever to receive an Oscar! Hers was for Best Supporting Actress, though as she has the most lines and scenes of Amy woman in the film, I don't see why it wasn't for Best Actress. Paper Moon was up against such greats as The Sting, The Exorcist and The Way We Were that year, and Tatum won at age 10.5. Her character in the movie is age 11, and *she turned 9 during filming*!!!
