Re Cat's note--oh yes, H. Rider Haggard is notable; dated of course, but still very good reads; they inspired several other writers and contain enduring themes. There were several movie versions of his stories, too.
listener-- a Fisher Price barn is a dandy gift--glad it was well received.
We had about three quarters of an inch of rain, bringing us up to a bit more than half normal rainfall for the date. No particular ag news to report.
I saw a story about a new (plausible) theory that Parkinson's Disease might be 1) a prion disease, and 2) potentially treatable with a vaccine. Not long ago I saw news about a cell phone application that detects changes in movements (certain types of hesitation and decreases in movement outside the house) associated with Parkinson's disease--permitting diagnosis long before it is obvious. Early detection plus treatment that would arrest (or even slow progress of) the disease would be wonderful!
This event coordinator was the perfect fit for me. I had no idea where to start, and she patiently sat down with me going over the painstaking details of table cloth, chairs, plates, silverware and everything in-between by setting them up so that I can see the picture in whole.
Howard is most first this bright sunny Sunday!
