You've all probably heard that Bob Simon, of 60 Minutes, was killed (the only fatality) in a car crash on his way home in Manhattan Wednesday evening. The CBS Evening News devoted a good 50% of the broadcast to Mr. Simon's life and legacy last night. I donno. Rod McKuen by Pneumonia, Bob Simon by a probably senseless car crash... Makes a person rather acutely aware of the fragility of human life.
