  1. It's a good thing Howard Dean is first.

I'm sure not, as it seems I'm getting sick. Bleah.

  2. That’s not you, face down on the floor there, is it?

Very little evidence of influenza around here so far this winter. Also none of today’s expected rain so far (1:20 PM). On the way to work this morning I saw some snow on the lower reaches of the mountains—obviously thin, but there.

    1. Thanks, Alan, you made me smile. I needed that. No, that's Barbar the Elephant, and he certainly has it tough some days. I've found his vest at the bottom of the stuffed animals bin before! Hurrah for any precipitation out your way! Keep us posted on that.

  3. listener ~~ hope the illness is either nonexistent or mild.

Another gloomy but relatively mild day here. And between work and Traincon, lots on my plate.

  4. Ah, Bill, it is neither, but I definitely appreciate your wish. I do not do nausea well.

Oddly, there is no fever with this, which is a new one to me. I had my flu shot in October, too.

  5. Turns out my brother came down with it about 4 hours before I did. Yet no one at the gathering had these symptoms. Strange!

    1. It's by no means unknown for just a few people at a gathering to get enough of a bad bit of food to be affected. But if it is the food, that should be good news because it suggests the nausea will pass.

Bad food, of course, fits the scenario of nausea without fever.

  7. Rain started again here about nightfall. I finished up work about 5:15, so experienced rush hour traffic in the rain on the way home. Nice to have so much time to relax of an evening.

Right now I am listening to a CD album of Robert Johnson (d. 1938) blues; it is so incredibly better using my computer, tube amp and good headphones than playing it on the car's CD player. Boy, I missed so much over the years...
