It always happens when he makes pizza. Which gets ready about the time he ordinarily eats dinner. (But is just ready right now, which is a small bit earlier than usual.)
Both "Silver," my twenty-fifth quiz, and a quiz on Rold Dahl's "Fantastic Mr. Fox" got put up on Fun Trivia yesterday within just a few hours. Needless to say, that pleased me mightily.
"Fantastic Mr. Fox" (the title of the quiz as well as the book it is about) fulfilled the Adventures in Authoring requirement to write a quiz in For Children. So, I've moved on to the next stage and now am required to write one in General Knowledge. Wouldn't you know it, "Silver" was in General. Phooey, got "Silver" and "Fantastic Mr. Fox" in the wrong order! Fortunately, figuring I would eventually need a General quiz for Adventures in Authoring, I already had one in progress. Just need to put the finishing touches on the Interesting Info sections for some of the questions - probably one more day's worth of work - and it can be submitted.
I'm kind of excited. It looks like I'm drawing to the end of Adventures in Authoring. I don't really want to finish, and yet it will be quite an accomplishment. The Executive Author Badge, awarded for completing Adventures in Authoring, has only been earned by twenty-three players in the entire history of Fun Trivia, some fifteen years. So, while all badges are exciting, this one is especially so. You'll probably all hear my whoop of triumph, even Alan out in California, when I finally make it.
Sis and I have started watching Lois and Clark on DVD. I always meant to watch it when it was first on, but somehow never got around to it. I'm very glad she suggested getting it. It's very enjoyable indeed, with a fine ensemble cast. Lex Luthor is a standout, both a bad guy and at the same time likable which, as Sis says, is quite an accomplishment. Highly recommended!
I think I have to agree with Bill about the food poisoning. I can think of NO air born flue-like thing that could take out 7 or 8 people at the same gathering within hours, when no one had been coming down with anything, before.

Anybody having latkes?
ReplyDeleteI had a little applesauce!
Nope. Fried chicken livers, with cinnamon. (Surprisingly good.)
ReplyDeleteI have graduated from applesauce and saltines to homemade chicken soup, safely pureed, no onion.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to having sweet potato latkes later this week, though!
Glad things are getting better with your stomach.
DeleteStill waiting for Marc to get the pizza done. He makes good pizza, but I must admit I wish he could get it done earlier.
Hope you feel better soon, Listener♥
DeleteBill, seems to me this has happened before. Maybe he should get started earlier?

Looking forward to that whoop!
