Near 70 yesterday. This morning got up to see snow everywhere and temps in the 30s. Good thing my winter coat is still handy.

  2. Rainy, windy and cooler today but no snow, thank Heaven!

    1. Sleet and snow showers forecast, for tonight, though they don't expect accumulation. And here I was foolish enough to think Spring was really here.

  3. Cold, windy, rainy. Below freezing tonight. Have turned two heaters back on, after a week of none. Feels like a setback.

  4. Nah, it's just Spring. Mother Nature takes her time.

We broke a precipitation record here today. Previous record for April 15th was 1.41" in 1942. We're already up to 1.51" and it's 9:30pm. So much rain today that the water was over the road in a bunch of places. The fire department was on scene in one place 3 miles from me, where the river was raging along its banks and flooding a road; they were making sure it was safe for folks to cross and ready to close it when needed. It's 2 miles from my house to work, and there was water level with the road when I was driving in. It would have gone over the road, but that the precip turned to snow first. We had an inch on the ground when I got home around 8:20pm. Lake Champlain is reaching flood stage too.

    1. I'm not surprised. Portions of the Connecticut River are at or near flood stage too. Now, why can't we send all this pesky rain out to Alan?

  5. Send it out to Yosemite or thereabouts—that’s just fine. And check your email, Cat.

  6. Tuesday I got caught up at work early, and we got out on the road soon enough we could get to our hotel in Scotts Valley (near Santa Cruz) while it was still twilight. Then this morning and a bit of the afternoon in court, then to our customary lodging in Berkeley for court in Oakland Thursday morning (I hope it doesn’t run over into the afternoon, but that wouldn’t surprise me). Typical Santa Cruz weather—foggy in the morning, clear sunny and warm later in the day. We got to the Bay Area during rush hour and anticipated a dreadful drive to Berkeley, but it wasn’t bad except for a spot near the Bay Bridge eastern approaches. Stopped at a pizza place on University Avenue in Berkeley that I and we had driven past many times over the years but not checked out; dandy pizza! I will be writing a good review for them in Tripadvisor.com. Also for our motel in Scotts Valley (a Best Western—I’ve never had a bad experience at a Best Western).

I had to do a fair amount of studying last night for court today, but tomorrow’s case is (as far as I can tell) a bog standard alcohol DUI; ten minutes’ review of records will be enough.

    TTFN
