Whoop for Howard! And let us not forget that taxes are the price of civilization [Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. as I recall].
I am experimenting with Pluto Mail [Click], which allows one to set e-mails to expire, or to be edited after they have been sent but before they have been opened. Interesting. I am thinking it might have some use in my consulting practice; in cases when I am asked for an informal opinion, for instance.
I am both confused and concerned by Pluto Mail's claims. They are implicitly claiming that they can *hack into the recipient's computer* to change what is there. If they aren't lying, as I suspect they are, this is very, very scary.
Not if it's web mail. I never thought of it before, but I suppose web mail is essentially a web page which can in principle be modified. If they claim to be able to get into, say, the Thunderbird mail client on my computer then, yes, very scary.
Even with web mail, the message is still on a page maintained by the *recipient's* e-mail provider. It's possible to see them doing what they say if recipient as well as sender use Pluto Mail, but that is unlikely.
Preview is my friend. Finishing up a new quiz, I hit "Quiz Preview" as an afterthought. Good thing I did. Two answers, the correct one and a red herring, in Q. 9 were too long and got cut off. Fortunately, fixing the problem wasn't difficult but, even if it had been, that's referable to truncated and thus unintelligible answers.
As I write this, a line of heavy rain is approaching (Wind Advisory and Flood Watch in effect), and tomorrow night we are expecting maybe 3" of snow. It will melt off by the end of the week, so early on Easter morning we're expecting a fresh dusting of snow ~ I guess to make everything the liturgically correct colour. Ha!
Today's edition of the National Nurse Newsletter featured the Vermont Legislature's recent passage of a joint Resolution in support of the National Nurse Act. I wrote a blurb for it from the perspective of a grandmother, and Nurse Teri included a photo of me with three of my Grands. Well! Here's the best part! She sent me a note today to thank me and to let me know that the very first response she had to the News was from Howard Dean! :-D The Guv is very pleased that Vermont came through again. (This is the second supportive Resolution that they've passed!)
Just made my forty-fifth challenge at Fun Trivia. This one's a mini badge. Not exactly zipping right through them, but now that I'm making more of a concerted effort, they are coming along faster.

DeleteWarm and quite windy today. Ahhh...!
ReplyDeleteAnd snow falling here.
DeleteWHAT!
DeleteI said, snow was falling. :-) Got about an inch, I think.
