    Great Blue Heron sighting this morning. Of all the fauna in this place, it is my most favorite. I feel nearly honored to be allowed to see it.

      Fished for quite a while, ignoring Beau's barking, then finally took off, a half circle and down river. What utterly lovely creatures!!

    Monday evening at 7 PM we set out for the Bay Area and it was raining hard; we were afraid it would stay that way or get worse, since we seemed to be driving into the storm, but it let up. Court (the same case I testified in on Friday) started up at 0800. It was raining here in Oakland pretty much all day, sometimes hard—with a cold wind. Staying here in Berkeley for a second night, because I was on the witness stand in another trial when court was recessed for the day. Starts up at 0915 tomorrow morning, and I sure hope it doesn’t go on for long. It was pouring rain when we had dinner, but let up by the time we got to our lodgings.

    I got the rough drafts of our tax returns finished up Sunday.
