Software problem on my new computer (Office 2010 not properly installed). Struggled for a couple of hours last night, then for maybe an hour today before I thought to check if I had a backup copy on disk. I did! Simple once I knew what to do. (Isn't that usually the way?)
I spent the evening keeping watch on the possibility of Northern Lights and I've learned my lesson. It was already happening and I didn't jump into the car to go see, then the intensity subsided. Next time I go at the first sign of the level being high enough! Tomorrow evening may offer a chance: "2013-10-09 01:05 UTC Minor Geomagnetic Storm Occurring A shock in the solar wind passed earth late on October 8 (UTC) bringing unanticipated G1 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storm activity. The brunt of the disturbance is expected through the early hours of October 9 (UTC), then followed by a second pulse later on October 9. Watch for updates here." http://www.swpc.noaa.gov More links in a moment...
