God doesn't just sit back and snap his fingers and stuff magically happens. He's an engineer and a physicist and a chemist... He works hard.He deserves to rest once a week. *grin*

  2. Sat down, took one sip of my good, very warm coffee, then Spinnaker jumped up and started drinking it! Bleah! Good thing it was decaf, as she's energetic enough already! (I never thought a cat would drink coffee!!) Silly kitty! =^. .^=

    1. listener, over the years, I've had several coffee drinking cats. And I don't do decaf. I finally gave in to just sharing wit' em.

    3. puddle, they're too young for coffee; they're still babies really. LOL!

But seriously, we are trying hard to keep them eating what kitties are intended to eat and not eat out of our (in use!) receptacles. :-D

  5. I was wondering what fantasy land that tree was from. Doesn't look like a denizen of this universe. [grin]

  6. Very interesting story about phosphite, Cat--thank you. It makes sense that phosphorous in a low oxidation state could persist in a low-oxygen environment, such as earth before the development of photosynthesis.

On another note, I was parked in a courthouse hallway for quite a while this morning, and decided to download a bunch of Andre Norton stories from the Gutenberg Project. Perusing several, I came across "Ralestone Luck," which the card entry told me took place in Louisiana. That sounded rather different, so I set to work on it. I realized it was very early Andre Norton, so looked it up; she wrote it in high school! Pretty darn good for a high school student, I dare say.
