Been a chilly, windy week. Lots of leaves down and blowing around. I realized that for me, Winter starts when I can see the back of my near road neighbor's white trailer. . . . Heat the grog peeps, we're in for it.
I swear I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't even want to eat real food any more. Just chips, ice cream, candy bars, cookies. Maybe I'm just sick and tired of cooking?
I understand, lol! Only person I cook for now is the dog. Wait. Not troo: crockpot. Beans and rice. But am bored out of my skull with *food* ~~ even junk food.
If cooking is the problem, there's always microwave meals. And raw fruit and veggies. My breakfast most mornings is cold cereal. There's lots of variety at the grocery store and it takes maybe two minutes to pour the cereal into the bowl and pour milk on top of it.
A peanut butter and jelly sandwich would be better than what you say you're eating. Although, much as I love it, I know I would get tired of having it seven days a week.
I'm really looking forward to winter this year. Summer was awful, too hot to be fun. OTOH glad I don't have to drive to work every day in winter. I'm sure that would adjust my attitude.
Susan, eating sugar leads to sugar cravings because it spikes your blood sugar and as it crashes you feel hungry for more. (Which is really what's behind the "two scoops" of Raisin Bran!) To break the cycle, make yourself a healthy meal you know you love, even though you have no appetite for it at the moment. Once you start eating healthy, yummy food you won't be under the spell of your sweet tooth anymore, and will begin to crave the good food again.
I didn't sleep well last night. Worked 4 hours, then had my first yoga class, then went to the Science and Spirituality.class at the Library. Finally made it home at 9pm. I have no right to be as awake as I am! I think the yoga class gave me energy!
And that's not all. I finally have an entire outfit for my sister's wedding! I found the most gorgeous knitted scarf in browns, with yarn embroidered flowers in blues and greens. It's beautiful in every way and goes perfectly with my blue skirt, cream top and vest, and brown hat, shoes and tights. After looking through three malls in two states and countless little shops, I can finally get dressed! Ha!
But that is not all. The Oct 15th issue of Newsweek features an article by a neurosurgeon who taught at Harvard. He was ever skeptical about near-death experiences until he had one...! My breath caught in my chest when I read that, like me, his happened when he was in a coma and he even mentioned pink-white clouds. When I emerged from my coma, I told my parents that I saw Gos in the pink mist. { !! }
Glenfiddich sounds like the appropriate treatment--but be sure you know where your towel is...
Today I received some political mail--the first except for some DNC and RNC money requests. A letter from the Obama-Biden campaign asking for money. They got some Dean Dollars and a stamp on the return envelope. I don't put a stamp on for the Republicans. Also a flyer about how awful the California GMO labeling proposition is. OK, I'll glance through it. Also my voter's pamphlet AND my absentee ballot (usually they come about a week apart). Maybe I can take care of voting this evening; most of the choices should be easy.
Howard would be first. Again! Imagine that!
ReplyDeleteStill in love with Howard Dean. . . . .

ReplyDeleteClear. Low of 25F with a windchill as low as 16F. Winds from the NW at 10 to 15 mph.
