Still feeling very good about what a member of my age cohort did last night. That said, NO, I don't think for a second that Obama would have been allowed to get away with it. HIS street talk would have pushed a whole lot of buttons that do not need pushing. The Irish are part of our honored culture. Black are not yet, but a good stretch. Still, I think there's a good take away for the president if he can see it: humor can take you places that earnestness can not. . . .
"But the real winner? The moderator. Let's just get down to brass tacks here: Martha Raddatz is a stone cold journalism goddess, with no time for bullshit and no patience for flim flammery. From the first second of the debate, she made it clear to the participants that she meant business, and if they did not give her business then she would forcefully extract the business from them."
Yes. I was getting frustrated at the thought of waiting until Monday night to hear what Jon Stewart had to say about the debate, so I've been looking around the internet for the nearest equivalent.
Yes, I saw a good clip and it made me sorry I missed it live! Ha! Martha Raddatz is real. She has been to Iraq many times and truly cares about people and good journalism. Don't mess with Martha!
It must have been harder for Martha Raddatz to watch the Obama-Romney debate than it was for us. Galvanised her! I want Martha to moderate the Presidential debates!
I’m really getting weary of loved ones having big health concerns. Brother-in-law Larry is failing fast; his wife told me tonight she doesn’t expect him to make it to Thanksgiving. Two beloved woman friends are having BIG surgeries the week after next. My godson, age 31, who is a firefighter in Maine, was in the ER last night with a large blood clot in his thigh. They have him on blood thinners and he’s to see his primary care doc on Monday. Seems to me they should have him see a specialist. It’s not okay for young people to be having health issues! Too much.
Howard Dean and Big Bird are First!
