What is your favourite colour Geranium?

  1. To answer the question of the day, pink!

    Also, Howard is first!

Puddle, did you say he's been ill? Should we make a candle page for him?

Left a few comments on the last thread.

    3. Left a message for Cat on the previous thread, just before the new midnight (Central) deadline.

Replying as "Google account." We'll see what comes up.

    5. You're really all that anxious to see what I look like? I'm warning you ---

  2. I thought she just said he *looked* ill in a particular picture.

Too sleepy to go back and double check though.

BTW, my new profile pic is me with Perkins.

    1. Yes, it's on the last thread, Cat. puddle thought he looked thin in a photo and asked if he has been ill. I think it's the camera angle and that he keeps trim now. No more Krispy Kreme Donuts! LOL!

    2. Nice, Renee! So everybody's settled into the new pack? *grin*

Thanks, listener. Was a little confused. My computer's sound has become rather fuzzy, which makes hearing what the screen reader says just a touch difficult.Hopefully, when we make the switch over to the new computer - very soon now - I'll be able to persuade Dad to give me the new speakers he bought. Not only is their sound lovely and crisp, but there's a place to plug in earphones, which my current speakers don't have.

Anyway, I'm relieved that you think it was just the photo, that he isn't really ill. That was worrying me.

    3. Things are still kind of strained as far as the pack goes. Working on it.

  3. Photos and lighting can make a huge difference in a person's appearance, and sometimes be deceptive. We should be on the lookout for more photos of Gov. Dean. He does look preternaturally thin.

We applied for social security this morning. The online application thingy wasn't working on Sunday, but was back at work Monday morning.

I go back to San Diego for the continuation of last week's court martial on July 16th, from the looks of it. That has to be about the limit for this year; but I found someone whom I can recommend in good conscience, and who would welcome the work should there be more such. She can probably handle a couple such jobs this year, which should be enough. The fellow I thought of first doesn't like to travel. During my absence the young lady we are training up to help with the testimony took care of the lab work and reports well, and even went to court for a preliminary hearing. She will do just fine, but like anyone she is naturally apprehensive. Expert court testimony is, to some extent, performance art.

BTW--how are people getting their gravatars to show up?

    2. Mine is my Google account profile pic, not my gravatar. I've been wondering how to reassert my grav. Thanks for the hing, listener. Need to get my gravatar.com account sorted out anyway - it's a bit of a mess.

  4. I just asked Mum, who sees Howard all the time on MSNBC, and she said he looks wonderful, full of vim and vinegar. She hasn't seen him for about a week, but she hasn't heard anything about his being ill. She does think he may be trying to lose a little weight, but she reiterated firmly that he's fine and looks terrific.

    *big sigh of relief*

  5. I think it may be more than keeping trim. . . .

is from four years ago: *that* is 'trim" THIS is GAUNT!

Had to laugh -- Someone else commented on the dye job. . . . Phil Shumway --
howard: haven't seen you in awhile. go back to the natural, gray hair. you look like an idiot.
15 hours ago I don't think he looks like *an idiot* ~~ but it's entirely too Trump-like for comfort. . . . Sort of ironic: grey hair actually disguises thinning hair (the scalp doesn't show up as much/if at all. . . .).

  6. Don't know what happened to the html on the last post http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150794214552505&set=a.448363712504.239588.34668722504&type=3

*This* is the pic from spring of 08.

I just keep remembering when I was starving last summer how *many* people told me I looked *terrific*. . . . didn't. I looked AWFUL. I have a brother who got kidded a whole lot in his late teens/early twenties about being chubby -- his nickname was Rollo short for RolloBelly. . . . He went over to the dark side, and looks like a concentration camp survivor. If I was his doc, I'd assume he was/is anorectic.

  7. Cat, I'm not trying to worry anyone, and sorry if I upset you. HugZ! Just a bit worried, myself. Hadn't seen a picture of him in a while. So the dye job, the thinness, thinning hair kind of shook me. And he's *sneaky* about his health: virtually NO ONE knew about the hip replacement last year. . . .

  8. News! We are bringing Mizzen home tonight!
The vet wants all the kitties quarantined from each other for a few days until the culture comes back saying what they have...and they get onto proper mess. Hope on and pray tuned! :-D

  10. Discovered a song I'd totally forgotten writing. The melody is rather sweet and plaintive and the lyrics, well the lyrics I can show you.

    Come to me.
Bring your loneliness and all the love you own.

    Come to me
Dear, I promise that you'll never be alone..

Bring your longing and your kisses.
Give me all your broken wishes
And those many dreams that never did come true

    Come to me-
And I'll build a world of love around - just you.

    ---

Well, as with many songs, it's better with the melody. Still, finding it was a delightful surprise.
