This is interesting: Kathy just went through a double mastectomy in December, has three very active teens, is a foundation of her church, and has been, understandably *stressed to the max* this fall. Were talking about our hair losses and comparing. . . .
"Are you taking the hair and nail vitamins? Probably a stupid question since you were the one that told me about the Vitamin D, which btw kept me from developing any upper respiratory infections this fall, something that has not happened for maybe 30 years."
It works great too. When my doc saw that I was more fit, she asked me for the link to share with others. Most exercise machines are monstrosities and many people, such as myself, don't have room for them in their homes...and wouldn't really like to look at them every day if they did. But this little gem fits about anywhere, since it takes up about as much floor space as a small hassock and is low, so doesn't disrupt the decor of a room. I use mine most often in the livingroom area. Great to use while watching the news. ;-)
I tend to slip up on the vitamins, but have been taking them daily since the fever ended last week. Only has 200IU of D, and it's Winter. Thanks for the nudge. And I'm glad Kathy is coming through the rye!! Hope you are soon, too. ♥
Well, finally made the long anticipated trip to town -- the first since the pre-op stock up trip. Beautiful! Some pastures positively emerald, the first of the lambs out boinging about, the young calves all about. Wonderful! And I have a handful of avocados. Nothing else signifies, lol!
Actually, I spruced up 2 leftover pairs from last year, so the final total is 14 pairs!
My godson in California always gets the strangest looking pair. It's a deal we have from the years he made candles with me. Some years the candles come out bumpy because the wax got too cool. This year I have a pair of green candles that came out OVAL instead of round and are somewhat narrow at the bottom end...which is because the wax was too hot when I made those. He'll love 'em. My favourite strange result was the year we hung the candles to cool, came down the next morning to find that they had seemingly stretched from where they were hanging nearly to the floor! The layers of wax had somehow separated slightly and slid down over one another, like a telescope opening! They'd have made great tall candles (2-3 feet tall!) had the wick not been so relatively short! Ha!
Wave. Been crazy busy with the classes, and recently discovered that next quarter is far less than a sure thing. Fingers crossed.
Also, I have to take Brady out at night often enough that I pretty much have to sleep on the couch. Not a fun update, but didn't want to disappear entirely.
What a great reward for going to town! Especially the boinging lambs! Up here, lambing is more a March activity.
And I've been eating avocados lately too! LOL! I love them straight, with a spoon but I also love them in a greens salad with tomatoes, black olives, celery and a little fresh-grated parmesan. Italian dressing. Mmmmm.
Renee ~~ DO NOT disappear entirely. I was just thinking I needed to post something to let people know I'm around, even though the most exciting thing today was that I got a haircut.
What listener and Bill said. As exciting as it gets here is that the knee brace and aspirin have helped tremendously. Aspirin irritates my stomach a bit--not much--but then I remembered we had some enteric coated aspirin and started using that. I should be able to do gardening tomorrow--gotta spray and prune. Oh--our tulip tree has begun to bloom!
Howard Dean is ever First!
ReplyDeleteI'll be beginning the day with FOUR pairs of candles made.
We'll see how many more I can make! :-)
Thanks for the suggestion, listener; interesting little exercise machine.
ReplyDeleteNot a good night. Sorta like being pecked to death by ducks. Am fine now. Wish I could figure out how to *prevent* nights like that. . . .

So good when it works out!
If you figure it out, tell us!
ReplyDeleteIt is no fun whatsoever to have a rough night. ♥
Last night was the first night in 10 that I slept enough that I woke up feeling refreshed.
I still coughed an awful lot, the first half of the night.
It works great too.

ReplyDeleteUpdate: I'm up to 9 pairs so far, with 3 more in progress.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to end with 12 pair.
That's a smaller yield than last year, but I'm okay with that.

Yah! Don't disappear!! Thanks for popping by.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted on that next semester thing. Hoping!! Prayers ensuing!
You are a really really good dog owner. I think you deserve a treat.
