Did I say it has been a warm December? Miyoko opened the doors and windows this morning to air the house out; our cat ran out and quickly returned with a present for her: a lizard! Miyoko VERY MUCH does NOT like lizards...
Ordered some books from alibris.com [Thanks, Susan!]:
By Zenna Henderson, Holding Wonder and The Anything Box (both short story collections)
By C. S. Forester: Payment Deferred. I think I have figured out a way to get my hands on at least an electronic copy of Forester's recently discovered and newly published book, The Pursued. It's not yet available for sale in the US.
Yesterday was not a good day. Pretty much everything alimentary shut down around noon. Been spitting up chicken noodle soup (which should have been NO problem) ever since. I'm hungry, but no point in putting more down until what's there stops coming back up. No point in even taking my meds, some of which might *help*. . . . Some days I get real tired of this "condition" and today's one of 'em.
Wish I could help, Miss puddle. Big internet hug and beaming light your way.
When I get fed up (not often, but happens) I indulge myself in some good old feral growling and stomping. (Scares the crap outta the guys here, but sure makes me feel better),
The blessings of living *exactly* where I do. Last trip to town, the windshield wipers stopped. Yesterday, on the way to John's I was reminded they didn't work, and weren't fixing themselves, so stopped by the garage on the way back. Everyone but one had left. He looked, and said they *might* be fixable, or might need a whole new dealeo. To come in this morning. I kept waiting for the energy to do that, and finally called to ask Teresa if they could just pick it up tomorrow. Nope. Today at four everyone was going home, and wouldn't be back till Tuesday. So she sent a kid, who picked it up, took it in, they fixed it, and brought it back. Only catch was that when I went to check, Beau wrapped himself around me, and managed to pull me clear down to the ground. Post op is going to be a *problem*. . . .
♥ Oh, dear, puddle! ♥ I am heart-sad at what you're going through!! I'm concerned lest you not be able to hold down anything between now and Tuesday. The docs waited a bit too long, it seems...!!*@#!! What's the probability that you'll end up in the ER this weekend? I'm pullin' for you from here!!! =BIG HUGS=
Mah*Sweetie got an email from his potential boss asking about his salary needs and saying to expect a phone call from HR (human relations), as part of the process as they go forward with their hiring process. He has not yet been offered the job. Since he was the first to interview, they may decide to interview a couple more candidates? So, we'll know when we know. But it's a really good sign that he's going to get a call from HR, and was asked about his compensation needs. We remain very hopeful. The suspense is feeling a bit electrified, but we're okay.
Holding down a good bit better than yesterday (which shouldn't be hard, lol!). Thing is, it's uneven. Good days/bad days -- no slippery slope. Well, not exactly. Obviously over a long time it can get VERY bad. But within that, even, are good days. Tricksy condition this is.
Fall did no major damage at all -- not even a bruise. Though a bit of abrasion on the side of one knee. I think I'm not likely to ever have bone breaking issues. One of the side effects of Graves Disease and the resulting thyroidectomy is that the parathyroids get a little out of whack. Mine have been for twenty five years been stealing calcium from my blood and depositing it in my bones. I am notified that I need extra calcium when my hands start to cramp. I spect (though haven't done a bone density test) that I have *very* strong bones. . . .
I'm so glad that the process seems to be going well for da*hunny! Hope they come through in time for a most merry Christmas!! Light continuing to be sent.
=Whew!= Glad to hear you're still kicking! :-) Nice to have strong bones!
Thanks for the continuing light! We were kind of hoping to hear by the weekend, but now we are doubtful of that. H.R. will surely take a little time, and nothing can be done until they do their deed. At least all they need to do is a phone interview. Maybe tomorrow! We'll see. But since the company is closed through Tuesday or so (I think), we probably won't hear until Wednesday or after. Meanwhile, we have reason for optimism.
Could be that we and you get good news on the same day! 8-)
Yes, good to hear that you're doing better, puddle; not much longer now.
Fire rainbows? I've seen them, but never heard the name before. Great photos!
Yes, it's to be expected that HR will have an "interview more than one" rule. Also that nothing will happen until next week. I just hate that "what are your salary requirements" question. But it does sound promising. Fingers and toes crossed!
Naomi is coming home tomorrow. She should be starting late enough that the fog should have burnt off, and I warned her (again) about one stretch of the road she will be taking. A father's entitled, eh?
A father is indeed entitled...and even if kids grumble about it, they are heartglad to know you care. Moreover, the reminder really does make a difference, since they wouldn't want to have an avoidable issue in just the location where dear ol' dad warned them about. Makes for an all too fair "I told you so moment" ~ and that's to be avoided like the plague, by younguns! ;-)
Howard Dean and all bright Lights are First tonight!

Does help, Susan. Does indeed. I may try the stomping and growling when I feel a bit upper. . . . xox

ReplyDeleteP.S.: What is your injury from the fall with Beau? XOXOXXX
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The funny thing about "fire" rainbows is that they form in clouds so high and cold that they consist of *ice* crystals. 8-)

ReplyDeletepuddle...you'd best check in here every so often lest we freak out and call you-know-who. ;-)
ReplyDeleteTell Beau that he *must* behave during your recovery. Good dogs know when to play and when to cuddle!
ReplyDeleteCertainly shows he's still in the running.
ReplyDeleteChecking in. . . .

That is, the company is closed AFTER tomorrow until possibly Wednesday, though they *might* be back Tuesday. Not sure.
ReplyDeletepubble ~~ Glad to hear it was a good day.
ReplyDeletelistener ~~ FWIW, the company at which Penny works (not her employer, which is not the same thing) will be closed tomorrow and Monday.

That's a nice break for Penny! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe company I speak of is definitely open tomorrow. I know because Eldest works there.

Pretty soon I'll be crossing my eyes! LOL!
