I've just noticed that it has somehow gotten bayond that too-early witching hour. But Howard is still first in our hearts.

The train got in at 3:20 this morning -- 12-1/2 hours late. but aside from that too-late arrival, it was a good trip. May have more details later.

Have spent most of the day catching up on e-mail. Will try to catch up on the blog when I get a chance. Back to work tomorrow. But I've learned that that new grant application due October 5th has been shelved. That takes a lot of the time pressure off.

  4. Oh, yeah, That's why I went to FB just now, to look at listener's rainbow pics again. My attention span is getting shorter by the minute.

BTW the new kitty had her first vet visit today. She's six or seven months old, as Sis thought, and in good health. She goes in for her operation Monday. Sis says her name is Philippa or Pippa. Not to my taste, but I wasn't consulted.

  5. Pippa's *cute* lol! Good hearts the bunch of you. What does she look like? Long hair/short? Long face/short? Long body/short? Color?

  6. She's long - long body, long legs, even long neck. Sis and I think she looks like she should be a ballet dancer or something. Gray on gray stripes, similar to Sally, the kitty in my FB profile pic, only without the peach splotches. All gray stripes. Sweet little pointed white face. Haven't seen her tummy, so I don't know if that's white. I only got a short visit this afternoon because she was tired out from going to the doctor. She seems very affectionate. When Sis posts pics, I'll put them on my FB page.

Dad is still grumpy. Oh well, he'll come around. He always does. He just needs time to get used to her. She is very winning, so it probably won't take long.

  10. Sooo, they're now saying that Hurricane Irene's eyewall is collapsing and she may now hit the Carolinas as a Category ONE hurricane!! Hurrah and Whew!

Of course, there remains a LOT of water in this storm, which will be worse on the west side of the storm, and there is still plenty of wind to go around, moreso on the east side of the storm.

So while we don't want to become complacent we sure are exhaling!

  12. The News Hour reported that something like 2550,250,000 people were evacuated from NYC. Like, huh?

Bummer about the HAMA. Still there's nothing that says the antibody treatment is actually necessary at this point. The scans are the important thing.

And with that, I'm off to bed. Early for me, but I've been surprised not to need either a long sleep or a nap the past couple of days. Guess that late Wednesday is finally catching up to me.

  15. Thanks, Bill.

Technically speaking, you are correct. However, Ally may only receive the 3f8 treatments into February; then she has to go off the protocol. The more 3f8 treatments you have the lower the incidence of recurrence of the cancer. That's why they so strongly want Ally to be able to have the treatments.
