  2. Susan--

I ordered some books from alibris.com; very straightforward. HUGE selection of used books. The site as well as the confirmation emails are attractive, being illustrated with book covers and suggestions related to the purchases. Looks like a good business model for used book sellers.

  4. Glad you're happy with it, Alan. Alibris was always one of the best sources for hard-to-find or out of print books.

Turned out to be a sort of lazy day. The book discussion scheduled for this afternoon was cancelled because so many people were sick. That let me spend about an hour in the scheduled on-line chat for the Worldcon services division. Otherwise mostly taking it easy so far.

  6. Oops! I was posting on yesterday's thread.

Alan, thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. All you need is Windows Movie Maker or similar software and access to music and pics. The thing is, you need a lot of photos for a standard, 2.5 to 3 minute song track.

  8. Cat, *finally* got the ebay pages working right, after I figured out that all the problems had to do with javascript. Once I figured out that much, I could go looking for solutions. A forced refresh (control + F5) did it. . . . But I found the answer on google: I'm *not* the only one who's ever had it. . . .

  9. Seems it's been a lazy day for a lot of folks here. On Friday the prediction for today included some sunshine, but no such luck. Pretty darn cool, gray day. No wind to speak of. More rain coming. One of my coworkers is back in North Carolina to get hitched (wedding day is next Saturday as I recall). Full-blown formal wedding; hope the weather gives her a break.

  10. Ah, so it was JavaScript. Well, I'm glad you got the problem sorted out.

  11. Yeah, I haven't done much of anything today. At least we got some snow Friday night and Saturday. Saturday afternoon was sunny, but today was gray and dismal. Also, I haven't been sleeping well, and I'm kind'a lonesome and blue. Probably just deficient in some vitamin or other.

Can't remember if I told y'all, I submitted a chapter from Marooner's Haven to the new editor of Slate and Style: Magazine of the NFB Writers Division. It's a non-paying market, of course; but, the editor put out a call for fiction and nonfiction -- I did say this, on the last thread. Anyhow, we'll see what she says.

In a way I got more done today than I expected. Just minor things, like sorting and filing papers, that take little effort and less thought. But just because they're to minor they tend not to get done. Glad to have them out of the way.
