Christmas, Chicago style:
A nativity scene so real that even Mary, Joseph and Jesus packed up and disappeared the second ICE rolled through. The church [Urban Village Church] didn’t even bother with subtlety, just left a sign saying they’re hiding. You know it’s bad when even the Holy Family needs sanctuary.

Very liberal priest.  Last time he had baby Jesus
in a cage when they were locking kids up.
Diocese wants him not to do it, but he has lots of support.

Daughter, as acolyte...around age 12. 

Many years later her own daughter would be baptised

on the Third Sunday of Advent.  Amazing how fast time flies.

The Old Round Church is in the background as well as Camel's Hump mountain. 
The church is actually 16 sided, and found in nearby Richmond, Vermont.

The Old Red Mill in back on the left, is the site of the Historical Society's

Snowflake Bentley exhibit and offers local artisan's works as well.

Second Sunday of Advent = more Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) 🕯️🕯️

 

The author of the book "The little book of Hygge. Danish secrets to happy living” Meik Wiking calls candles “instant hygge”. That is the easiest way to achieve coziness and comfort. Unlike lamps and fixtures, lighting candles in the house give natural vivid light, which favorably affects the emotional background of a person. This is especially important in the fall-winter period when many suffer from depression.

Mood swings and winter go hand in hand, but the Danes have learned that the right lighting at home makes the atmosphere cozy and winter more enjoyable. According to Meik Wiking, candles help you enjoy the cold winter evenings, and not endure them in anticipation of spring. When you light a vivid light, it becomes cozy and comfortable. And you won’t feel down or sad in such an environment.
